‘Progressive’ Liberals may muscle out NDP

It’s going to be a tough few years for the NDP as it sits on the sidelines and watches the Liberals claim to be the most progressive party.

Holding down the fort as third party isn’t fun, especially after you’ve been used to having the limelight as the official Opposition. But it’s even less so when other people are stealing your remaining thunder.

  • andycanuck

Yeah, we’ll have to see how this works out with the unions being bought by the Liberals.

trust fund brat has now outsupified even the NDP

Canada cuts $2.65 billion cheque to poor countries to fight global warming

Mark Steyn is sitting in for Rush today

  • ontario john

All those Wynne staffers flocking to Ottawa in new positions are having an effect. The Star website states that Trudeau today has committed over two and a half billion dollars to the world fund to fight global warming.

    • Cat-astrophe

That’s what global warming is all about, the forced transfer of wealth from us, to them. And this is just a trickle, 2.5 billion…

      • ontario john

Lets see, new report says child poverty is on the rise, new report says thousands are homeless in Winnipeg, scenes of people crying on tv from those that have lost jobs in Alberta, but we are spending billions and billions on muslim refugees who hate our guts, global warming scams and whiny indians. “Sunny Ways”

    • k1962

I heard that on the radio this morning. Such an idiot as are the Canadians who voted for him.

    • Did a bit of research on the origins of Global Warming theory the other night, and one name kept popping up: Maurice Strong.

Never heard of the guy before (heard the name, but no idea who he was).

      • ontario john

Old liberal party hack who loves commie China.

      • Waffle

Oh yes, Maurice — always lurking in the shadows. Perhaps you weren’t around back then but he was a name back in the 60s. He was part of the Pearson/Trudeau cabal if memory serves correctly.

        • I was around, just not into politics.
By the way, good to see you back.

          • Waffle

Thanks, I was doing some market research — literally. Unbelievable bargoons lying on the floor for pennies, but one has to do one’s due diligence. I rarely listen to so-called tips — they’re usually pump and dump promotions. If I hear about a sector that has good reasoning behind it then I look for the companies that suit my own criteria.

Have also been on Facebook for awhile — lot of anger out there. What is really said is so many people are trying to express themselves but they don’t have the skills to do so. Really pathetic. And boring — a lot of name-calling. I guess it feels good to vent. It DOES feel good to vent.

          • BCF is a good catharsis.

  • Cat-astrophe

They’re going to the chapel and they’re..
    going to get married….
Only a matter of time. Either way it is going to happen. Mulcair crossed the floor for a reason.

  • Alain

Both parties are the hard-left, and both represent misery for working Canadians and the death of the economy. Yet in a sense I say that the Liberals are worse, since they are all globalists whose allegiance is not to Canada. The NDP so far have been more nationalist than globalist. So I see the Liberals as the bigger threat to our sovereignty.

    • favill

So you’re saying that the NDP are the National Socialist Party….there was a political party that had the same notion some 80 yrs ago…however, their name escapes me…Can anybody help out there in BCF land?

      • Waffle

I don’t think he’s saying that at all. What’s being discussed here is how labels and words can fool people and how seemingly benign words have come to have a totally different meaning.

      • More like a National Communist Party. Although, coincidentally, the CCF (precursor of the NDP) did in fact support Germany’s National Socialists and Hitler at the beginning of WWII — when Hitler and Stalin were still Allies. Until Germany declared war on the Soviets, at which point the CCF was directed by their Soviet controllers to cut ties with Hitler’s National Socialists. Historical fact. Check it out.

      • Minicapt

Yes; find a 2 x 4 about a metre long, have someone beat you over the head three times.
        Then rethink your question.

    • Waffle

A bigger threat because too many people believe that ‘Liberal” really means liberal — just as they believe that Progressive really means forward thinking and caring about people. The “Democratic” in NDP is really there for show.

BTW, next time somebody tells you that Hitler’s Nazis were right wing, ask them how come that Nazi was an acronym for National SOCIALIST party? (and then sit back and watch them squirm).

  • Layton had the charisma to put the Socialist utopia within reach. Until his unexpected death. But the NDP held on, hoping that Mulcair could carry the torch. Unfortunately for the NDP, Mulcair has the charisma of a fart after eating a plate of hard-boiled eggs. And for utopians, image is everything — substance is unnecessary.

Along comes the equally charismatic Trudeau, likewise lots of image and no unnecessary substance, with practically identical Socialist policies. The perfect utopian candidate, albeit with less discipline than the NDP. And at that point, who cares about discipline? — if you’re a utopian whose hopes have been already smashed, Trudeau could be the once in a lifetime opportunity. Socialist utopia (which can only be realized through dictatorial policies) are within reach once again through the persona of Trudeau. At least that’s what they’re hoping.

    • k1962

      Excellent analysis!

  • Edubeat

Look on the bright side Justin and all his groupies are digging their own graves. Sic transit gloria mundi

    • Alain

Not sure it can be considered bright since they, like the Alberta NDP, will bury jobs, our natural resources and the economy before being removed from power. That is of course assuming that they will be removed after one term.

  • Ron MacDonald

Justin Trudeau, like Barrack Obama, is in a position of authority for the first time in his life, what him follow Obama’s lead and abuse it.

  • passerby1969

I can understand some of your arguments as valid, BCF, but your pictures are very one sided. Harper is always shown normally whereas JT or Mulcair or Wynne are shown in degrading ways. Not really an intelligent way of arguing a point.

    • Aha! I can’t speak for BCF, but I know why I support their approach. Did you ever see a flattering picture of Harper, or any conservative, in the Mainstream Media? Did you ever see a flattering news report of a conservative? This is a comment section in a little blog in a tiny corner of the Internet — the only place we can fight back. We’re up against three major National networks that consistently humiliate conservatives, as well as a gazillion Left-wing blogs that do the same. Can you not see the deep, profound, hypocrisy in your critique?

      • passerby1969

No. I don’t see the hypocrisy. BCF posts articles with well articulated ideas. Messing them up with clearly poor headshots (like the one with JT blinking) only makes BCF look juvenile.

        • Actually it makes Justin look juvenile, which he clearly is.

    • Clink9

If Justin could do it, he’d send the RCMP here to shut it down in a heartbeat.

      • If memory serves, didn’t BCF already receive a visit from Police a couple years ago because somebody tried to shut down free speech here?

        • Clink9

I think it was regarding the Toronto School Board.

          • I think I remember that — must have really upset them when BCF revealed that they celebrated the likes of Che Guevara and the Black Panthers in their Official calendar. Then there were their links to “vegetable sex” and other fruit-like sex toys, if I remember correctly. All accessible to children who happened upon the Board’s official site. Something along that line anyway.

          • Clink9

They’ve been after the kids for years. And these kids will defend their teachers to the end.

          • Provincially as well — remember Ben Levin, Wynne’s education guy? At least he got convicted for kiddy porn or something. Turns out the tables were turned and BCF was somewhat “prophetic”. They probably sicked the cops on BCF to divert attention from the gay kiddy diddlers.

There is a climate march in Ottawa sunday the thing is poeople should google and look who is taking part and who some of the partners are very few Canadians.
