Do the rest of Charlie Hebdo have to die?

Kathy Shaidle’s new Taki’s column (with bonus frothing Jew-hatred in the comments!)

We were told Parisians’ rapid return to their sidewalk cafés and like amusements was “a show of resilience.” So too, we heard, was Charlie Hebdo’s greatly anticipated first cover, post-attack: a dancing man riddled with bullet holes, and the caption “They have weapons. F—- them. We have champagne!”

“You know, you can have both, guys,” said the friend who posted the cover in my Facebook timeline. Indeed. See: well, Israel. “Rough men” and all that.

But again: Gavin McInnes reports that this elementary concept is utterly foreign to the supposedly formidable French mind, right wing or left.

Note bien: The same race that gave us the phrase “joie de vivre” also came up with “ennui.” When does the celebration of life become its sinister shadow—that is: decadence, with everything that word’s etymology implies? I’d say, “Ask the denizens of any Weimar cabaret,” but of course, they’ve been dead a long time…

“…with bonus frothing Jew-hatred in the comments!”
    Is that even possible?

    • Justin St.Denis

Count on it. They take it in shots.

    • Zaba

      I always have a glass before noon……

The comments section at Taki’s Mag is not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. I’ve seen more evisceration over the mildest of issues than in even the most productive of slaughterhouses. There is nothing deadlier than a literate American with an opinion.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

Anti-Americanism is the socially acceptable placeholder for anti-Semitism.
Which when you think about it, has scant few differences between the two philosophies.

  • Poignantly sarcastic cover. Generally out of the scope of my cultural knowledge, but I did notice that Hollande didn’t decide to “go to war” until he felt the bad guys hit at the heart of French pride: militant secular society.

    • ismiselemeas

He did actively engage in Mali recently albeit with the foreign parts of his legions.

      • True, and I think he was the only one. Full disclosure: I hate Socialism — no matter what the stated intentions of Socialists I don’t trust them.

  • Sid Falco

My french friends on facebook are all the same since the attacks – arselicking pish about how well integrated muslims are in Paris. Ill-making.

  • Shebel

I am glad that I do not have one ounce of French blood in me.., well, maybe a little , way back ,way way way back—

With 6,000,000,000 non-muslims on earth they can’t kill us all.
Each muslim would have to kill about 6 infidels while just 1/6 th of the infidels could kill one muslims each .
When you take away the young and old plus the sick that can’t do jihad you might be looking at 20 infidels murders per muslim.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

They don’t have to kill us all as long as we have a sizable population that would rather live as slaves because they think it’s “fair”.
There must first be a political will to wage total war against the enemy, while our elites cannot even name Islam as the real enemy.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

And yes, Kathy Shaidle is right.
The Rest Of Charlie Hebdo Have To Die!

Wasn’t it Svend Robinson that fled to France after his theft issue to get away from all the homophobia on Canada .

Boy he’s in for a shock once the find him and his lover the stole the $60,000.00 ring for.

    • Minicapt

He moved to Switzerland on a UN job shortly after the theft; and he came back for a run at Hedly Fry’s seat c.2009.

      • Gary

Oh, I must have heard another one of his lies to the media to give them something because later on he got a job with some Eco group that got him out of the Country.

  • The French: Liberal pansies to the end. Till it gets them killed.

Almost a hundred years ago an American expat living in Britain penned something something not with a bang but a whimper… a good summary of THAT lost generation. Our lost generation never engaged the battle at all and gave up.
