Are Russia and Iran In Charge Now?

On Monday, Russian defense official said that an arms deal with Iran to supply the Islamist regime with advanced S-300 air defense missiles had gone into effect. The prospect of the Iranian military acquiring these weapons could alter the balance of power in the region, endangering Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states. But even if we ignore for the moment the impact such an upgrade would have on Iran’s ability to protect its adventures in Syria and Yemen, there is a broader question to be posed about what may be the resumption of arms sales between Moscow and Tehran. After years of negotiations that were intended, in President Obama’s words, to allow Iran “to get right with the world,” the possibility that Iran may be using its Russian connection to render itself invulnerable is a crushing blow to the administration’s hopes.

This was Rand Paul’s warning. If you want to have a no fly zone then you will be committing to shooting down Russian and Iranian planes and then having to send in American troops to fight them on the ground.

Good thing Obama’s red line marker is empty.

I say we arm the Iranians, arm the Suadis and let them have their Sunni Shia apocolypse. After they have killed each other off they won’t be a threat to us any more.

  • The bigger picture.

Putin helps the Shia Muslims who only represent about 10% of Islam.

The Suni’s and the Shia’s will kill each other if given the chance.

The Suni’s (Saudi’s and others) will get pissed.

The end result will be more Suni/Shia Muslim bloodshed.

This is good from some points of view. But the size of the weapons these religious fanatics now have at their disposal makes everyone close by more likely to become collateral damage.

Get out of the way and let the killing begin.

    Maybe that is Putin’s plan.

The West can thank both Obama’s and Kerry’s incompetence for allowing this to happen.

As long as those two are in office Putin can take the lead.
He can’t do any worse than signing non treaties with no enforcement mechanisms or consequences.

Just like how the Soviet Union got bankrupted from war and the US drawing the Soviets down in Afghanistan, the US is experiencing now from war for 14+ years and trillions spent. The US and the media meaning left, right and centre in the mainstream, across the West, are just placing their heads in the sand. They have to realize at this point that Russia and China are allied and that they are on par with the US and are now superpowers. We now live in a multi-polar world. Most just do not want to admit it.
