Academic Freedom Opposed by “Who”?

It is that time of year again. News arrives of 343 “university teachers” who signed a letter pledging that henceforth they will not cooperate with Israeli academic institutions. Their joint letter took up a full page advertisement today in Britain’s left-wing Guardian newspaper (where else?) and has caused almost no stir in Britain. It comes days after a letter in the Guardian’s letters page, signed by 150 leading British writers, musicians and others — including JK Rowling, Simon Schama and Hilary Mantel — opposed any and all such boycotts against Israel, and pointed out that in the eyes of most people, intellectual and cultural exchange is a good thing.

    The Nazis are rising again.

That is right. They only hid underground for a while.

Ah, more ideologues posing as professors.

you do realize that Jewish Organized Crime says… I will contribute money to the cause UNLESS it is going to disturb their legit and criminal businesses.

You boys and girls should be ashamed of yourselves …

    just think…

What would happen if Israel were the only Democratic country left in the world?

I really don’t think you could negotiate you way to safety

It must be my lack of a university education but I’m confused. I always thought that universities were bastions of free speech and intelligent conversations. I can have more reasoned and informed conversations with the uneducated roughnecks on the drilling rigs and the labourers on the pipeline jobs I do safety on than I would ever find on any of these campuses.

Free speech only happens on a professor by professor basis. That’s why when I went back to Mac I always dropped in to the lecture hall a couple a classes in the semester before I would take their class. Makes life so much easier.

Gosh, left wing Judenhaas. I’m shocked. /sarc

So if North America’s scientific community followed this stupidity, how far would they fall behind in cutting edge experimentation. Notice that most of these fools are in the Humanities and Social sciences.

University Humanities and Social Sciences need shuttering for at least a generation.
