Tories Open Lead On Communist and Communists With Better Hair Parties: Poll #elxn42

OTTAWA — With less than two weeks until the votes are counted, Stephen Harper’s Conservatives appear to have opened some daylight on their opponents.

A new poll by Mainstreet Research, provided exclusively to Postmedia Network, shows the Conservatives with 37% support of decided and leaning voters compared to 29% for Justin Trudeau’s Liberals and 24% for Thomas Mulcair’s NDP.

  • David Murrell

Welcome news, but I must say this poll disagrees with what the pro-Liberal media are reporting. The pro-Justin Trudeau CBC is reporting that their Liberals have a slight lead:

and the rabidly anti-Conservative Globe and Mail has the Liberals (36%) out in front of the Conservatives (31.5%):

(scroll down to the “tracking poll” part way down the article).
But reading the main web pages of the Globe and the CBC, both are becoming hysterically anti-Conservative today (Tuesday October 6). Maybe the corrupt editors are trying to create a false band-wagon effect for Justin, but are worried that Harper is actually gaining ground.
It is tough to see which polls are right, though.

    • That Nanos rolling poll is rolling in BS. 400 people sampled per night is not accurate.

Love the line “The Liberals dominate in Atlantic Canada.” Figures for the hand outs and bet most of COTU not far behind. Will be voting at advance pole this Friday at the local fire hall for Kellie Leitch.

  • I hope and pray Harper gets over 50% of the votes and the seats. He certainly deserves it.

Trudeau would be a disaster, Mulcair a slightly smaller disaster. That said, the federal Tories deserve a smack upside the head. We can’t afford to give them a time-out, but if they don’t get punished, it could end up like the Alberta provincial election with voters getting so enraged at a corrupt and unresponsive government they’ll cut off their nose to spite their face.

I’m hoping for a razor thin majority, to send a message without committing suicide.

      • No – this is no time for vengeance and lessons. Canada’s future existence and shape is at stake. Conservatives are not ideal, but they are way better than NDP and Libs.

Hence, a slim majority. They stay in power, but it puts them on notice
