Kenney ‘not made aware’ of alleged Iraqi deaths by Canadian fighter pilots

Defence Minister Jason Kenney says the military never told him Canadian fighter pilots had been accused of killing civilians when they bombed an Islamic State fighting position on Jan. 21.

It’s a startling admission from the Conservative minister because the Harper cabinet member is effectively saying the Forces kept him out of the loop.

  • If this is used to keep Canada out of vapourising these ISIS b@$#@rds, I shall be most annoyed.

The Media Party is working very hard this election.

Civilians killed in a war… Regretful. But I’m sure it’s happened before. And will happen again. Move on.

  • Dave

There are no “civilians” in muslim countries. Bomb them all.

I am tired of hearing about civilian casualties. For a start, I don’t think anyone in the ME meets the Geneva convention definition of soldier. They don’t wear uniforms and they don’t have a rcognized chain of command. They are just a bunch of savages running around with guns killing each other.

Secondly, in a war the old man/woman who builds tanks in an armaments factory and is a supporter of the regime that sent the country to war is not considered a legitimate target because he is a civilian. The young boy, who is not allowed to vote, who is drafted against his will under penalty of death if he refuses to fight is considered a legitimate target because he is a soldier. There is no morality in that. War is hell, people die. It pretty simplistic to say that some people deserve to die and others don’t based on whether or not they are wearing uniforms.

We bombed and offshore shelled the hell out of Normandy before the landings too with great civilian casualties. The lesser of two evils.

  • Ho Hum

I would think that it would be a given that every airstrike on ISIS targets will also take the lives of civilians also. How can it be otherwise? It’s called collateral damage. If we don’t want to be responsible for killing civilians we should not be targeting ISIS. If Canadian MINISTER OF DEFENSE Jason Kenney is claiming that he was not aware that civilians have been killed in airstrikes this chubby effeminate limp-wristed 47 y/o self-proclaimed “virgin” and “confirmed bachelor” is too stupid to be minister of defense.

All that money that the Cons had wasted could been used for infrastructure projects all over the country , with those bombs Canada is getting enemies so the terrorists will have something to blame .

So I read the story and got the following out of it…
    A) Kenney wasn’t minister when this happened.
    B) The charges of bombing civilians are probably bogus.
    C) Kenney wasn’t briefed about inconsequential stuff from the past.
But to read the comments; my god what a bunch of mindless sheep being led by the author of this so-called news piece.
Seriously, how many people were dropped on their heads by their mommas when they were young? 40%?

  • Denis

if it was a military position anyone in it or close by is a target!
