Real conservatism this campaign? Don’t count on it

If only Stephen Harper were more like Thomas Mulcair…

Last week it was revealed Mulcair publicly praised Margaret Thatcher’s policies.

Yes, that Mulcair. The federal NDP leader. And yes, that Maggie Thatcher, the Iron Lady — the lodestar of record for conservatives the world over.

Speaking about the Quebec budget in 2001 while serving as a provincial Liberal MNA, the now standard bearer for left-wing economics said: “The solution to this, Mr. Speaker, isn’t more intervention from the state, but less.”

    I guess he figured out he’d not likely be elected leader of the Conservatives so the NDP was a better play for him.
