We are nearing Peak Automation…

Automated donair slicing robotTakeaway becomes the first in Britain to get its own £5,000 kebab-slicing ROBOT – which means a perfect doner every time

Nothing says the end of jobs like the DonerBot.

  • New Centurion

Okay they’re not going to get them here because that would wipe out about 10,000 low skill temporary foreign worker applications for food counter attendants and Muhammad would have to think of a new way to circumvent the TFWP system to get all his peeps over. I know, DonerBot maintenance technicians.

  • Hard Little Machine

When you can do away with the idiots behind the counter then you’re talking.

  • tom_billesley

Doner: layers of mystery meat cemented with congealed fat. Yum. One of those meals best eaten drunk.

Plus the remains of Charlene Downes.

The guy running the turkish kebob house where I go is Vietnamese, he and his Wife spice and mix the fresh meat nightly for the donair. And they are really great after a few beer.

    • Raymond Hietapakka

No mystery to me…lips, snouts, tails and arseholes.

  • Dana Garcia

Advanced Turkish technology — who knew??!!

Someone in my area is one of many retired teachers but this one was in the Science that commanded high skills for math. Yet , trying to talk to them is a struggle because they have a very short attention span and are very vague on details when they tell a story which gets them upset when I mention something to help them because they respond with new details as if I already knew it.

These types aren’t rare and usually rely a Public sector jobs with lower performance standards , but for a Teacher to snap at students as they did to me must have made them fear ever giving input or ask a question .

Far too often today we have good students stuck with poor teachers that end up holding the student back from excelling and getting ready for University .

i had mostly good teachers…some very good
        ‘am fortunate
remember the anti Mike Harris propaganda teachers pumped in the 90’s?

  • CB Zolfberg

This means fewer Muslims, right? What’s not to like.

    • tom_billesley

The muslim knife wielder will go on welfare and the robot doesn’t pay tax to fund the welfare.

  • Allan

Doner? What the hell is a Doner? Isn’t it Donair??

    • New Centurion

Must be the Brit way of saying Donair, gov’na

    • mobuyus

Some places call it a Gyro which I believe is a registered trade mark, the gyro log of meat could very possibly be from animals killed years ago. It’s formed and frozen and warehoused and shipped out and tastes like shit.

      • Raymond Hietapakka

A guy from the Middle East, at an ethnic food fair here, dropped his gyro-machine on the concrete floor and fucked it up, when he was setting it up for the event. Fuck, he was pissed.

  • simus1

Looks like a pretty decent machine for the price.
No doubt some of the optional items to hang on it for the customers peace of mind, like a high tech DNA continuous analysis unit, will cost plenty.

The next step will be Robots for people on diets where they eat the food for you and describe how great it is while you have a matching scented Scratch-n-sniff
to trick your brain into thinking you’re actually eating it.
