Opposition to Ontario pension plan growing as support for scheme softens, provincewide poll finds

As the Liberal government reveals more details about the Ontario pension plans, a new poll shows an upswing in disapproval of the scheme.

Last week, Premier Kathleen Wynne unveiled more details about the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORPP), an alternate to expanding the Canada Pension Plan and a federal election campaign sideshow Prime Minister Stephen Harper appears to relish.

I really hate to say it, but Kathleen MIGHT have a tad more traction for her hare-brained schemes if she showed at least a little respect for her audiences, By respect I means wearing some half-decent clothes instead of the half-century old polyester shmattes she insists on dragging out of her hope chest.

Now I know that Kathleen’s spies avidly read this blog. After all, they seem to have passed on the remarks I made earlier about the ghastly fake pearls she insisted on wearing around her scrawny neck. If you notice, she seems to have traded them in for real pearls, albeit circa the 1965 People’s Credit Jewellers catalog and has even added a discreet gold collar.

But she still seems loathe to giving up those awful dresses which are way too short (for a woman of her advanced age) and sleeveless, which demonstrated extremely poor taste and downright rudeness when she welcomed the Aga Khan. Now, I’m not suggesting she should have worn a hijab or something (heaven forbid!), but she could have worn a long-sleeved something or a jacket.

Perhaps she thinks she’s being authentic by refusing to adhere to even minimal dictates of fashion, but her stubbornness doesn’t enhance her. It diminishes her. So keep on hauling out those dreadful rags. Your fashion crimes may spark a revolution. (and if things change, you can rest assured that the spies passed on this post.)

I think she gets fashion tips from Ellen DeGeneres.

While it’s true that Ellen has rather a mannish style, she does have good taste and would probably be caught dead in polyester crapola.

And to just make your day, just reported on CP24 the ETFO Union Boss made the claim that they will be involved in the upcoming federal election. Just another idiot who doesn’t know that education is a provincial responsibility. I would have thought that this dirt bag would have run in a riding as an NDP candidate by now. I guess closing that contract for his union members isn’t such a big deal after all.

      they don’t care about facts
ETFO Union Boss pay , pension would probably equal an MP

    • They are lunatics!

Someone making $45,000 a year would pay about $16 a week into the plan.
    (the employer would match that).
After 40 years paying into the ORPP, the worker would be eligible for about $6,400 a year in benefits.

The gov’t collects about $1,600 a year for 40 years and pays out $6,400 a year if you survive.
That $6,400 may be clawed back, taxed, or both.

Hmm, I’m not good with numbers, but that sounds pretty sweet for Kathleen’s side.

Perhaps they can run some cheesy ads on late night TV to help sell it.

  • That b!#ch will still try to bring it in. She’ll wait for the anger to subside.
