Umbrella of oppression

Northeastern University: White men can’t be oppressed

Resident Assistants (RAs) at Northeastern University are allegedly required to learn that white men can’t be oppressed.

According to a screenshot posted online from the Boston, Mass.-based university’s website, the RA training guide makes the claim that “In order to have the experience of being oppressed one must belong to an oppressed category. Men cannot be oppressed as men, just as whites cannot be oppressed as whites.”

“For a male to experience oppression,” the guide continues, “they would also need to be a person of color, gay, disabled, or in a lower social class.”

Would this be like saying Negros do not feel pain?

  • moraywatson

How low a social class does a white male need to be in before they can experience oppression? Who determines the “social classes”? And what makes a particular class higher or lower than another one? Do I need to register, or will someone send me my classification in the mail?

    • Clausewitz

To feel oppression for being a white male, all you have to do these days is look for a job, especially a government job.

    • Exile1981

yes, and if the lefties have any say a box car will take you away to a special summer camp with special showers.

    • David Murrell

Much of what is taught st schools these days is so, so racist. The best thing to do is to refuse to take arts or social science courses.

It’s insane. As a white male how could this not make me feel oppressed?

But as a White Male versed in this craziness I no longer give a fuck.

Who gives a fuck about these idiots any longer? I’ve a family and a country to worry about.

I searched for the the recent I Am Ruski Oppressor. I Make No Apologies. Video? Anyone know any links?

      • Drunk_by_Noon

        That’s the one I saw.

When Ivan wants to do propaganda well, he does it well.
They skipped the part about the mountains of bodies of their own countrymen, and others, that they left in their wake.
But hey, ya can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, and the Russians like really big omelets.

        • Petey the First

We have clear differences but for all of that why the hell aren’t we cultivating these people as allies? I’ve known Russian people individually, at a personal level. They’re good people. If we were in the same trench I’d fight and die with any of them against a common enemy. Same with Chinese. There are good ones.

Individual Russians are great, I agree.
When you get them into larger groups, they are something less than great.

I look at it as the friend that is fine until he starts drinking.
Russians are fine until they start forming societies.
            Their ways don’t “scale” well.

          • El Martyachi

            1. “We” are apparently no longer capable of cultivating allies.. generally.
            2. Russians have no allies.
            3. Even if one and two weren’t true, if you live in a North American city (including Canada), Russian nuclear weapons are pointing at you. That’s not changing anytime soon, unfortunately, and that’s not the stuff alliances are made of.

  • Canadian

So that means that as a white male, I`m in a higher class?
I don`t feel special at all.

  • Tokenn

The only appropriate response to this idiotic assertion is something along the lines of ‘fuddle you’ [with a nod to P.E.T.]. I think we are reaching the point where white males will just give up on trying to make nice and actually become the bastards we’re made out to be. Might be fun…
