Fighting terror Bogart-style: How Morocco counters radical Islam

Here in Casablanca, everybody still comes to Rick’s. (Well, at least the tourists do.) But there’s more to Casablanca — and Morocco — than silver-screen nostalgia; in fact, some of the lessons of “Casablanca” are still very much with us today.

Kathy Kriger, a former US diplomat who stayed here after ending her State Department career, came up with the idea of modeling a traditional local house after filmdom’s most famous gin joint. There’s a well-stocked bar, arched ceilings, a piano.
