Russia and Nato ‘actively preparing for war’

Russia and Nato are actively preparing for war with one another amid the greatest build up of military tension in Europe since the end of the Cold War, a new report says.

Rival exercises by the Russian armed forces and Nato have led to several near-miss incidents that could result in confrontation between the two sides, and leaders need to consider a new arms control treaty to avert the possibility of heightened tensions spilling into war.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

The Soviets cheated on all arms control treaties that they ever signed, I see no evidence that the current Russian attitude is any different.
One thing they always respond to positively is fear.

“The Russians behave the best when they are treated the worst.”

That should be carved into the pillars at the entrance of the U.S. state Department and the Pentagon.

It’s the wrong fight for them.
      They will lose.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

Are you saying that Ontario MIGHT be more corrupt and incompetent than Mexico?
They can’t be THAT bad, can they?

        • dance…dancetotheradio

          Other thread?

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Actually I was trying to build a case for a NATO preemptive strike on Ontario!

That does explain where that post went.

            You saw that too!
Disqus has been doing that lately.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

            I know!
I’ve been seeing the same thing for weeks.

            Drives me nuts.
Also, quotes are not reliably pasting either.

    • I do not trust Europe.

    • Shoot down a Russian jet.

If the pilot survives, give him every incentive to remain in the West.

Why fight for Mother Russia when one knows one is disposable?

      • Drunk_by_Noon

Ah, the times, they are a changin’.
Unlike the Cold War, Russians don’t have an easy time getting visas to America like they once did, such as when the Soviets wouldn’t let them travel. That means, we kind of don’t want them.
Most Russians that were in love with the west came over long ago.

Actually drilling a MiG out of the air is something we could easily do, but I’m not so cold blooded that I’d want to do that to a “regular Ivan” Russian pilot.
There is a high probability it would kill him, cause a huge ratcheting up of tensions, and not really lead to anything productive.

Speaking of defecting with Russian hardware, my favorite defection story was the Russian General that came across in 1988 with an SS-20 mobile nuke (with transporter and launcher).
        He was serious about defecting.

        • Either a jet can be shot down to show Putin that we mean business or we can just capitulate.

I say put on your parachute, Vanya.

How can transgendered American and Western armies with tens of thousands of ‘soldiers suffering from ptsds from fighting Islamic terrorists armed with small arms could stand against Russian army that has tens of thousands of tanks, planes, missiles and nukes?

      • Drunk_by_Noon

Your name is stupid. You know that right?

        • African

Whether you like it or not I will have to repeat the facts again: Westerners are stupid ‘LGBTQ’ and transgendered faggots and with fighting the lightly-armed arab/islamic terrorists, the so-called Western ‘armies’ are still suffering from ptsds and thousands have committed suicide and tens of thousands live on medications and you have to understand that there is NO way such godless and transgendered Western faggots can stand and fight with a Christian Russian Army that has tens of thousands of tanks, war planes, missiles and nukes?

When will white people learn to stick together?

    • Drunk_by_Noon

They sure do look good in parades!
I also think that they would get carved up like a Turkey in a wood chipper if they decided to roll into Western Europe these days.
I think with 90-days of preparation, and an American president OTHER than Obama, Poland would be their killing field.

      • canminuteman

I don’t think so. Fighting the Russians wouldn’t be like fighting retarded arabs. It would be like the difference between the British fighting the Italians in the North African desert in WW11, and then what happened when the Africa Korps showed up.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

No, it would’t be like fighting the Arabs at all, but once they leave their own soil, historically they tend to fight very poorly.
We also would not be hampered by politically correct rules of engagement.
Finally, the last decent war they had was Afghanistan. Maybe you could include the Crimea, but only a little because they re not there in major numbers.
They are not the Soviet Union anymore, and they still have the structural problems from back then that they never really addressed.
Finally, a knock-down drag-out with the United States did scare them a lot more than we ever suspected back in the day.
They see America as existing under a constant war footing and irrationally fanatical in our hatred for them.
Their assessments are not entirely accurate, but they think they are.

    • Ho Hum

This is what I don’t understand either. Why are western countries led by the U.S. trying to start another cold war with Russia (or hot war)? We consider Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia and Turkey our “allies” – heck we even allied with Al Qaeda in Libya and Syria and yet we consider this great white nation a perennial enemy? Why? Russia is no longer communist. It is no longer trying to spread communism worldwide so what is the problem? Obama spent Billions to overthrow a democratically elected President in the Ukraine in order to antagonize Russia. The resulting civil war has resulted in thousands of innocent whites being killed. What if Russia did the same thing to Mexico – what if they purposely destabilized a country on the U.S. doorstep and created a civil war that threatened US security. How would Americans feel?

      • Minicapt

You should pay attention to history, it would prevent these non sequiturs.

I cannot understand that either…and for different reasons you’ve cited Were NATO and Russia to go to war what would prevent China from invading and occupying Siberia grabbing all the region’s natural resources…including the natural gas that heats and lights Western Europe in winter? Europe is destabilizing its most important source of energy. It’s just not very bright, if you ask me.

      • African

        Good point!

  • Alain

NATO and EU have been pushing this from the get-go. No need to be Russian to understand the provocation. I admit to finding the attempt to draw Russia into an open war insane, when we are all, yes the Russians also, facing the deadly threat of Islam.

  • Norman_In_New_York

NATO may have to draft all those asylum seekers to offset Russian manpower. Come to think of it, the “migrants” sure look good as cannon fodder.

  • Nic

I’m rutin’ for Putin, go get em Vlad!

Maybe he’ll replace some of those Dickless EU cunts with some Man, I mean sure, authoritarian, corrupt to the bone, and with enough vodka in their breath to keep a gas lamp lit all night, but still Man.

  • David Murrell

One can see why V. Putin is so aggressive. With Obama and Kerry in power, the Russians know they can do what they want.

  • Petr

Thank god for Putin. Without him scaring the shit out of everyone, the idiots in the EU would be slashing the military budgets all over to expand the social services again. This way we even may have an army when the time for the European civil war comes.
