John Rhys-Davies Lashes Out at Political Correctness, Islamic Terror

“We have lost our moral compass completely, and, unless we find it, we’re going to lose our civilization,” warned the ‘Lord of the Rings’ actor on Adam Carolla’s podcast.

Perhaps John Rhys-Davies was channeling Gimli, his character from The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, because the Welsh actor delivered a soliloquy Tuesday about good and evil and even warned of the end of days courtesy of radical Islamic terrorism and political correctness.

“There is an extraordinary silence in the West,” said Rhys-Davies on Adam Carolla’s podcast Tuesday. “Basically, Christianity in the Middle East and in Africa is being wiped out — I mean not just ideologically but physically, and people are being enslaved and killed because they are Christians. And your country and my country are doing nothing about it.”

Carolla elicited laughter from Rhys-Davies when he asked him when it became fashionable to refrain from judging outsiders.

Mr. Rhys-Davies is a fairly well-known actor. But one wonders if he will be blackballed by coporate film-makers for his pro-human rights stance.

    • Likely.

He is probably well aware of the risk and likely doesn’t give a shit. He is rich and old and semi-retired as it is. He has the luxury to say what he wants now.

Home of Gimli Goose wine. You knew it was a fine wine because the goose on the label had boots on.

John R-D makes me proud to be a Welshman. I also like Welsh jokes. I usually blow people away by responding to them by telling them three jokes to their one. Then they know I can’t be fucked with. Hence my handle.

I can’t remember jokes to save my life. It’s like a disability.

This is off-topic, but his best lines in LoTR were ad-libbed.
