Master Cpl. Tatyana Danylyshyn

I bet they just let her win cause she’s a girl…

Top shooter in Canada’s military has a long red ponytail and says women shoot better because they’re less stubborn

  • Clink9

Maybe she can be allowed to vote …..

    • El Martyachi

“I find that women shooters in general … are a lot more willing to adapt and try new things,” she said, adding that they’re less inclined to show up to the range with “preconceived notions” about shooting.

Hmm.. makes sense. Men are just too stubborn. That must be it. Or maybe it was this…

The daughter of a Surrey firearms instructor, Danylyshyn first hit the range at five years old, shooting low-recoil .22 caliber ammunition. “I taught all my kids to shoot before they started school, and to swim and to read as well,” said her father David Danylyshyn.

Sorry, she used “women” as an adjective. She doesn’t get to vote.

  • Juden Raus!!

Probably because Canadian men are bitches

    • El Martyachi

Though generally your point is strong, in this instance it’s probably not directly applicable.

      • David

you should check this things comments on other topics before up ticking.

        • El Martyachi

I don’t really have an uptick policy. Sometimes it’s an endorsement of the comment idea, other times not. Unless upticks somehow become realized as physical results of consequence, I don’t see a problem with being all willy-nilly with them. And it was better when downtics showed a counter too… disqus pantywaists!!!

          • andycanuck

I was going to downtick you, El M, but I realized it won’t show up so there’s no point to it. And now I don’t know if I should uptick your comment instead because I agree with your comment re. Disqus!

          • FactsWillOut

If you right-click on the down-tick arrow, and select “Inspect Element” you can see how many folk have down-ticked you.

          • andycanuck

Oh. Okay, I’ll give it a go.

    • UCSPanther

Neo-nazi vermin are pathetic, frustrated basement dwelling pseudo males who can’t figure out why they are such failures at life.

    • Hey – its this clown again.

      Is “Juden Raus!!” a woman?

  • Bernie

Line up the Terrorists and let’s see how many she can kill in a given period of time. Are there more like her ( Male or Female? ) .

  • mauser 98

women should not be in front line combat at all

    …….BCF…….. you have another troll

    • Kathy Nelson

If women were in charge there would be a whole lot less combat you sexist pig.

      • El Martyachi

Possibly, so.. all ya gotta do is convince all belligerent nations, groups and actors to put women in charge and we’re good. Then differences could be settled with sharing circles.

      • Kaye

There’d be less innovation and creativity (since, aside from their physical capacity to create life – which they continually abuse through abortion – women are less intelligent, creative and innovative than men); there’d be fewer scientific discoveries; there’d be less art and music (male dominated fields); there would be more poverty and general suffering in the society. But you’re right: there probably would be less combat.

        • El Martyachi

That potentiality.. it’s so difficult to imagine. I can’t see it happening.

        • mobuyus

Oh the woman fight and can be quite vicious and cunning in attaining what they desire. Look at the ladies of isis or the four Congolese woman arrested for sexual assault and assault with a weapon. Let’s not forget karla homalka. She enjoyed performing oral sex on a teen girls after their legs were sawed off while still alive. Woman can be just as shitty as men.

      • FactsWillOut

Shaddup and make me a sammich! And get me a beer.

      • andycanuck

Good one, Kathy! (You did mean the opposite, didn’t you? In a “modest proposal” sort of way, right?)

      • Clausewitz

That’s a fallacy that can be disproven in pretty much any organization were women are the majority. You should see the fur fly at any elementary school board meeting. Tell me again the lie about women being so much nicer.

      • mobuyus

Ya right ya man hating crank. We’d still be living in caves and trees. You’re not really a woman are you? I think you are some queer university student with some sick project you are working on. You’re more feminist than an actual feminist. Go blow it out your ear buddy.

      • mauser 98
    • mobuyus

My friend’s Daughter was front line in Afghanistan with the R.C.H.A. and acquitted herself marvelously under fire and in numerous contacts with the enemy. She knows how to kill men (Goat humpers ) with a C7 rifle.

  • pop

Gingers are feisty. It’s hard with orange hair.

    • Petey

Sarah Conner. Come with me if you want to live.

    • mobuyus

Fire on the head fire in bed.

  • DaninVan

‘Men are Stubborn’, says the ginger chick… lol
In any case, good on her for her win!

    • Blacksmith

So what is her point? Stubborn is good you don’t give up that way. Seriously though there are differences between men and women in both physical and mental disciplines and that IS A GOOD THING! I am not gay so really appreciate the differences.

  • Edubeat

During WW2 Red Army snipers -female variety- were chosen for their ability to breathe differently than men. The results was better accuracy than their male counterparts and a higher ‘bag’ More patience too it seems

  • bilbo

women do shoot better, all other things being equal, so long as the target is static. their blood pressure/pulse enables that.

    • El Martyachi

I find that women shooters in general … are a lot more willing to adapt and try new things,” she said, adding that they’re less inclined to show up to the range with “preconceived notions” about shooting.

No, misogynist. It’s their openmindedness. You’d know that if you weren’t so stubbornly unwilling to check your “preconceived notions” while adapting and trying new things.

  • FactsWillOut

Lets see how she does with a real gun, like a 7.62 NATO round, instead of the wimpy little 5.56.

    • Petey

Isn’t 556 standard in NATO now? I know what you’re talking about, I just thought the standard had changed some years ago.

      • FactsWillOut

You are correct. I think we should have stuck with a .30 calibre, like maybe make a rimless 30-30, or whatever.

        • Blacksmith

IMO 30-30 doesn’t have enough range. The .308 is about as small a .30 caliber I think is effective. Opinion though. You can shoot the .556 all day without a sore shoulder.

          • FactsWillOut

30-30 is ballistically similar to 7.62 x 39mm, which we all know has proved very effective in theatre.
.308 is overkill, I admit, but a 30-30 has a similar range to a .223, and more energy at 100 yards.

As far as shooting all day without a sore shoulder, you can do that with a Mosin-Nagant or Lee-Enfield as well, and be able to hit targets at 700 yards (at least with the Mosin-Nagant).
Hand-to-hand, you could break an M-16 (er, C-7) in half with an FN FAL (AKA C2). I think these small-calibre, light weapons are part of the pussification of the west, to be honest.

          • Blacksmith

Except for the flat nose needed on the 30-30 due to the tube magazine I would have to agree.
Now when you get to the 7.62 by 54R (Mosin Nagant) I admit to missing that one, which is strange as I own 2. It is an amazing cartridge and ballistically slightly better than the .308.
Thank you for the correction. I wonder if they could make a semi auto for the 7.62x54R or if the rim would be an issue.

          • FactsWillOut

Well, they made full-auto rimmed .303’s (Vickers medium machine gun), belt fed. I bet a magazine containing a belt(or chain links), that opens like a door could be designed, that way, you could still have 10 mags on ya, and reloading mags would be way faster, just pull out a 20 round length of belt, lay it in the mag, shut the door, and put it into the gun.
Yes, most 30-30-s are tube fed, lever actions (I love my Marlin 336W), but, a rimless version with spitzers could work, IMHO. (Like a NATO version of 7.62x39mm)..
The Mosin-Nagant, IMHO, is the best WW2-era rifle, with the full-length rear locking lug like the Lee-Enfield for strength, and the front locking lug like the Mauser for accuracy.

          • Minicapt

            The Dragunov is a self-loader.

        • Clausewitz

How is she with a 50 cal Marine sniper rifle? Get back to me on that one.

  • Frances

For Canada, the only Olympic Gold was taken by a woman, Linda Thom. And think of Susan Nattrass, seven-time world champion in her sport.

    • Very true, they could shoot.

    • Clausewitz

Was anybody returning fire? That would be the test.

      • Was anyone shooting at the male athletes?

        • Clausewitz

Just saying there’s a big difference between target shooting in a controlled setting and firing in the chaos of battle. The male athletes would do just as poorly because they are not trained to fire under the pressure of battle. For that you need soldiers, not athletes.

      • FactsWillOut

She already said she’s not as good killing animals.

  • Maggat

“less stubborn”? Having been married to two different women for almost 55 years I will dispute that statement.

  • Blacksmith

Bully for her! this just goes to show what hard work and dedication can produce.

  • Norman_In_New_York

Okay, here’s a real straight shooter, and you can tell by the writing below her name which army she serves in.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

    Less stubborn?
Obviously she has never met my daughter.
