Thousands Across Israel Protest Violence, Incitement

Thousands of people took part in rallies across Israel to protest Thursday’s stabbing attack at Jerusalem’s Gay Pride parade and the West Bank arson attack in which an 18-month-old Palestinian infant was killed.

Nasser Dawabsheh, the uncle of the infant burned to death in the West Bank village of Douma, said at a rally in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square: “Netanyahu offers his condolences, but we ask the defense minister and the IDF to restore security in the village of Douma and in all Palestinian villages… we want this to be the end of the suffering of our people. Before Ali there was Mohammed Abu Khdeir, and we don’t know who will be next. We want the fires to end.”

Arson is terrorism. The peeps should be found and locked up. Now, should Israel apply the same rules to the settler terrorists as it does to the Palis which would mean blowing up their houses?

Yes. And quickly. Terrorism is never acceptable.

The problem remains that Israel does not enforce the same standard when it is the Arab Muslims. Arresting citizens in their own home for having called Mohammed a pig comes to mind, just as all the destruction by Arab arsonists to Jewish crops, orchards and even reestablished forests come to mind. I have no problem with abiding by the rule of law where all are treated equal when it comes to breaking the law, but to date Israel refuses to do so. Contrary to the Arab Muslims the Jews as demonstrated here quickly turn out en masse to condemn such acts, while the Arab Muslims cheer and pass out candy. I agree that what is wrong and unacceptable is so no matter who the guilty party is, but I am fed up with the double standard being applied in Israel just as I am fed up with the double standard being used in Canada when it comes to law-breakers.
