Illegal Immigrants Outnumber Unemployed Americans

The number of illegal immigrants in the United States totaled 11.3 million in 2014, outnumbering the 9.6 million Americans who were unemployed in the same year, according to data from Pew Research Center and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

“An estimated 11.3 million unauthorized immigrants lived in the U.S. in 2014,” says a Pew report. “The new unauthorized immigrant total includes people who cross the border illegally as well as those who arrive with legal visas and remain in the U.S. after their visas expire.”

According to Ann Coulter’s research the number of illegals is at least 30 million.

That 11.3 million number is a joke. They estimated 11 million back in 2004 and an estimate of 1/2 million per year crossing the border. The more honest estimates are 20-25 million.

Wow!! Just think. I could have been an illegal and overstayed my visa. In fact it was suggested to me by my lawyer.

You have to wonder about Canada to. How many Canadians do we have out of work?

This problem can be solved swiftly by prosecuting employers who hire the illegals and commit criminal tax evasion and workplace health and safety violations in the process. If enough of these employers are imprisoned, the market for illegal labor will dry up in a hurry.

Yes, but you first have to close the southern border.

If enforcing the laws already on the books causes the demand to drop toward the vanishing point, controlling the border becomes much easier.

          Good point and agreed.

This is rather like witnessing a modern version of the fall of the Roman Empire when you add this to everything else happening.
