Jimmy Carter

I Ran – Jimmy Carter’s lessons from the Iranian hostage crisis as revealed in his new memoir

“My last year in office was the most stressful and unpleasant of my life,” writes Jimmy Carter in his new memoir A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety. America’s 39th president hasn’t forgotten the root cause of the problem. “From November 4, 1979 American hostages were held captive by Iranian militants, supported by the Ayatollah Khomeini and his government.” For those who missed the Carter Era (1976-1980) there’s a bit more to it.

Yeh, but didn’t the media make of lot of that hostage situation?

“Many Cuban families are deprived of good income, certain foods, cell phones, access to the internet, and basic freedoms,” Carter explains, “but they have access to good education and health care …”

That’s news to me. On a visit to Cuba about 7 years ago my wife and I were disgusted by the accounts of Cubans regarding lack of health care and education. We were told by Cubans you had to bribe your way to health care while parents had to supply items such as chalk.

Jimmy Carter, the USA’s President McCloskey (a Harrison Bergeron reference)

Carter was ahead of his time, in the sense that today more Americans, and nearly all of the corporate media, endorse Carter-like quisling surrender to foreign evil. As the posted NR article stresses, Obama is Carter-like in foreign policy. But todsy, unlike in 1980, Obama’s “I suuender” foreign policy is supported by the U.S. establishment.

There were days during ‘the Carter Era’ I really thought ‘the world as we knew it’ was coming to an end. But it was just the beginning of the end. I still get a minor anxiety attack when I see his stupid face. I literally hate the man for continuing to inflict us with his presence. You’d have to have been there I guess.

He’s still nuttier than one of his peanut farm shithouses.

Heh. The imagery is too vivid. I’m glad I read that AFTER my breakfast had settled.

  • Carter got from the Iranian mullahs exactly the same thing Obozo will get from the Iranian mullahs – nothing.

They only respond to force – like all Muslims.

My brother manages a salmon fishing lodge in Quebec for some very very rich people.Carter was a guest at the camp one summer. My brother said he was never made to feel like an inferior underling by anyone in all his life as Jimmy made him feel. Carters self importance was sickening.

Oh and he was cheap to no monetary gratuity just a flicking pen
