It burns!

‘It burns!’ Granddad films nine-year-old boy eating one of the world’s spiciest peppers… and they end up phoning the hospital

And when I had to go to the toilet…

  • Maggat

Looks like the basis for a good chilli.

  • Ron MacDonald

He’ll be performing the dance of the flaming asshole tomorrow.

    • Icebow

Stupid little sod. He’d need a lot more milk, which might or might not palliate the potential ring-sting to which you allude.

  • Hard Little Machine

That’s retarded and we needn’t worry about continuing that DNA line.

I used to have hot lucks at my house for friends who enjoyed highly spiced food. The jalapeno is nothing compared with the truly incendiary items at the top of the Scoville scale.×534.jpg

The habanero chili is as high as I dare go, and even then, I always regret it. I tried roasting them once to remove their skin, and wound up making my own pepper spray gas in my house.

I’m not a hot pepper fan; I’ll admit I kind of cut off at jalapeño and even then I usually don’t like them even that hot.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

That really is my comfort too.
After a certain point “hot” is not better, it’s just hotter.

          • Exile1981

You also have to remember that there is a eating threshold for too hot and a threshold for pain out the other end… and if your eating threshold is higher you’ll regret it the next day.
Always eat one heat level lower than your lowest threshold.

      • Icebow

I did that with a microwave. Oh boy.

My (Cuban) French teacher in high school would, once a semester, allow her students to eat a habanero for bonus points.

The Spanish teacher grew them and would allow her students the same ‘privilege’ of eating one for bonus points.

Words can’t even begin to describe the spectacle of ‘Habanero Day’.

Good times, Good times! (DO bring milk and rough-textured crackers though.)

      • Icebow

I’ve never ventured higher than Scotch bonnet/habanero. Yoghurt and ice cream also work, along with citrus fruit.

    • Icebow

      Then there’s the Moruga Scorpion.

    • Me love hot.

When i smoked heavily ,I did too. As you get further away from smoking you will notice you get as big a bang out of more moderate spices .I still like spicy foods but all the receptors work now so a little goes a long way.

” I fell into a burning ring of fire,
I went down, down, down as the flames went higher
    And it burns, burns, burns,
The ring of fire, the ring of fire.”
    Johnny Cash

  • Minicapt

    Truly a spectator’s sport.

Fuck dat shit. I’m just getting over colitis. No more spicy food!
