Charlie Hebdo Surrenders To Islam

No more Muhammad comics, says Charlie Hebdo editor Sourisseau

“Charlie Hebdo” editor Laurent Sourisseau has told “Stern” magazine he will no longer draw cartoons of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Souriseau’s statement comes six months after a deadly attack on the magazine’s offices.

I do not blame him, he survived the attack however there is no other way but to declare this a surrender to Islam.

I’d like to see some misunderstanders of Catholicism blow his head off the next time he draws the Pope.
    Just to be ironic.

    • Minicapt

if everything and everyone was secular, all the world’s problems would end.

      • The_Infidel_01

Worked out really well in china and Russia, didn’t it.

        • Minicapt

          Even better, North Korea.

Without religion, there can be no durable moral code nor immutable laws and eventually the greatest horrors imaginable become palatable.
Christanity, although weakened, still beats the hell out of any other religion that I have seen as a foundational basis of a successful civilization.

        • tom_billesley

You could try to draw up an atheist social contract with a durable moral code and immutable laws, but someone would be certain to call it a religion.
The greatest horrors imaginable could also be incorporated from the start, but then you’d be competing with islam.
Christianity may have its faults and fake practicioners, but at least it’s not deliberately sowing evil.

    • The cold hard Hebdo lesson.

When Muslims represent 10% of the total population in France, free speech has ended.

What will it be like when Muslims represent 20%? 30%? 40%? …

      Can you say Afghanistan!

      • Last week we saw a video of an Arab “youth” going into a Paris restaurant telling non.Muslims to fast for Ramadan (throwing chairs etc. about to intimidate them). Religious police is not far off.

  • Brett_McS

I don’t blame him for that, but then they should shut down the magazine. To continue on – only from now on they are just pretending to be brave satirists – is certainly worthy of blame.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

To them it’s more important to pretend to be brave satirists than to actually be one.
It has just as many accolades, but no actual risk.

It’s like spending your day rescuing babies from fake house fires on a Hollywood set and then demanding recognition of your bravery. It’s not real, but it fools a lot of people, or atleast enough of them.

    • They got rich, well the owners did on donations, after the massacre.

      • k1992

Some of those donations were made out of plain, old-fashioned sympathy and compassion, of course, but some were no doubt given as thanks for standing up for free speech (and perhaps standing up to Islam as well). And now they have betrayed free speech and arguably, France in general; perhaps they would consider returning some of that donation money….

      • Now they’re rich, they want to enjoy their wealth.

  • dukestreet

I think the only way to defeat this is for everyone to draw mo cartoons etc. the more we capitulate the more they demand.

I am coming to the conclusion that the west had become too civilized.

  • The_Infidel_01

Well, if mad mo is off limits, then they cannot do cartoons of ANY religion or world belief. all or nothing, end of story.

    • vimy

I agree. All in or all out but by choosing the latter they have spite on the graves of all who died that day.

  • pop

    Submission to Islam.
A deluded profit a deluded religion.

  • Harold Harry Francis Callahan

If they stop making fun with religion, I would say: “Yeah, why not nowadays?”
To stop making fun with Islam only is incoherent…

  • BillyHW

    Just another french faggot.

  • roccolore

    Charlie betrayed freedom.

  • tom_billesley

I’m not going to make fun of Muhammad any more, only of Mohammed, Mahmoud, Mahomet, Mehmet etc.

  • Hard Little Machine

See? Peaceful protest by the religion of peace works!

  • All the more reason to crack down on “restive youths”.

This will not end with stupid cartoons. It will affect everything reported from now on.

France will be Sweden in no time.

  • The truth is, Charlie Hebdo was never courageous – they were just a bunch of sick leftists sicking out their hatred of everything and everyone, secure in the thought that the establishment had their back. When they discovered that they had an enemy ready to hit them hard, and no one to protect them, they naturally reverted to their native cowardice. No surprise there.

  • Drunk_by_Noon

I notice no one is making fun of the atheists.
They could try that, but they won’t because almost to a man, they are atheists themselves.
