Twitter Users Predicted White Shooter in Chattanooga Before Shooter’s Identity was Revealed

When news first broke of the terrorist attack in Chattanooga, Twitter was filled with posts claiming that the shooter was white, that the media would cover up the shooting because he was white, and that the shooting was a result of toxic white masculinity and cisheteropatriarchy.

Here is a small sample of said posts:

Of course, it was later revealed that not only was the shooter an Arab Muslim, but that he also didn’t have a legal gun AND that he shot up a gun-free zone.

But when have facts ever stopped anyone from immediately using tragedies to push their misguided, hate-fueled political agendas?

  • Boy were they close!

  • Clausewitz

Why wait for the facts when you can just jump to conclusions. I jumped to the conclusion that it would be someone named Moe and boy look at the egg on my face, sorry what? Never mind.

    • Damn Baptists let me down again.

I always assume the muslim did it and throw it out there right away.
And then I dare the people who’d disagree with me to prove me wrong.
        It’s delightful shutting them up.
It’s better than making book in Vegas.

And I don’t even have to go look to know what these people are likely posting now.
Then – “The shooter is white! Proof of white racism and privilege!”
Now – “The shooter is Muslim! Proof of white racism and privilege!”

    • They have an autofit fit feature.

    • Blacksmith

Yeah kind of predictable arent they.

  • Shebel

He was just being a good Muslim.
    Nothing wrong with that, apparently.

  • lolwut?

Well to be fair, the first witness, assuming they weren’t lying did say live on CNN that he was white. and at first glance he does appear kinda white.

Just like with the Boston Marathon bombing. Democrats were hoping that person was white.

    • Moon Metropolis

The Boston Marathon bombers WERE white. They were also Muslim, though, and they bombed the marathon because of their Islamic beliefs. The usual suspects were hoping for someone more along the lines of Timothy McVeigh or Eric Rudolph.

Democrats were also hoping that the marathon bomber was a military veteran, Christian, or Jewish.
