Oregon allowing 15-year-olds to get state-subsidized sex-change operations without parental approval

The list of things 15-year-olds are not legally allowed to do in Oregon is long: Drive, smoke, donate blood, get a tattoo — even go to a tanning bed.

But, under a first-in-the-nation policy quietly enacted in January that many parents are only now finding out about, 15-year-olds are now allowed to get a sex-change operation. Many residents are stunned to learn they can do it without parental notification — and the state will even pay for it through its Medicaid program, the Oregon Health Plan.

Now this is a sign of a society in rapid decline.

A sex change for a child too young to consent to sex in Oregon law?

    • Makes obvious sense in Oregon.

The air on the West Coast does weird things to people.

Living here I have to disagree. However I grant that the cities seem to attract the nuttiest of nutters. I am not sure it is any different in the big east coast cities such as NYC.

Sex is the new god these days, and all associated activities are sacraments. Except – I suspect – sex within “traditional” marriage.

      • Clausewitz

Yep, according to the feminists sex within a marriage is rape.

It is simple mutilation, but on so many levels.

  • When I take a look at the guy who’s premiere of Ontario I think he should have had the operation a long time ago. So I’m on the fence when it comes to that.

    • OK you make a good point there.

on the plus side allowing the surgery at this age effectively removes the ability for them to reproduce and further contaminate the gene pool

I am seriously considering giving up political discourse. If we have reached this point, I may just focus on painting adorable kittens.

    • And music. Let us know if there’s anything new to post.

    • It makes perfect sense.

    • Minicapt

What if the kittens don’t want to be painted? They have feelings, too.

I guess Oregon wants to limit the number of children who feel like they may be another sex. The rate of suicide amongst teenagers is already. For all people who have sex change operations,it’s much higher still. I doubt the poilicy will end up saving Oregon any money though.

      What’s money when it’s not your’s?

  • Exile1981

This all makes sense if they are trying to destroy western culture and undermine parental influence over children.

And who in Oregon will be forced to bake cakes in celebration of this perversity? The race to the bottom is truly underway.

  • WalterBannon

Every Oregon politician who voted for this should be lynched.

    • Alain

I am not that harsh, but everyone of them should be forced to undergo the same surgery without their consent. That would do it for me.
