Man admits washing child’s mouth out with soap

Ryan Birtwell, 23, spotted the six-year-old’s behaviour in a park near his home and confronted him.

Birtwell had seen the boy kick an elderly man’s cane and told him to stop – but the youth told him to “f*** off” and called him a “gay boy”, a court heard.

Birtwell then walked into a nearby shop and bought a three pack of soap and pinned the boy down and stuck a bar in his mouth.

Personally? The kid had it comin.

Make this man minister of education!

And when Helen Keller uttered an obscenity, her parents washed her hands with soap.

    • The Butterfly

Wow, I haven’t heard a good Helen Keller joke in a while.

I like the one about her burning her face answering the iron.

    • Heh;)

    • Maggat

Oh, that was was nasty, but a good one.

  • Waffle

Wow!! Just wow!! If this child is an example of what England is raising these days, I’m sorry but they deserve to be infested by the cockroaches. I wonder what sharia has in store for his ilk (and his mother).

    • Alain

Sadly it isn’t only in England.

  • Chatillon

Surely the speed and efficiency of the police response means hat they’ve learned their lesson, following the Rotherham scandal….Yes?

Oh no. Soap poisoning. I told you not to use Lifebuoy.

  • DD_Austin

Wash the kid’s parents mouths out with soap as well

One can agree or disagree with the soap method but the underlying lesson that “actions have consequences” seems to be lost on a fair portion of today’s special snowflake, entitled, trophy for showing up generation of thug . . . er, I mean kids. Maybe this event will give the kid something to think about.

    • Allan

Maybe the kid will realize that there is ALWAYS someone bigger and stronger than you. Pick on the wrong person and you can go down hard.

  • David Murrell

The article depicts one mean-looking mom and kid.

  • ntt1

a new generation of chavs .. as nasty and antisocial as these kids are ,in times past they were sent out to expend their venom on the wogs. nothing cures violent tendencies like a war zone .

  • Blacksmith

Well played sir! That needs to happen more often.

  • Edubeat

You couldn’t go the soap/mouth route in Ontario as you would be charged either as a parent or a teacher. For educators the incident would be reported to the College of Teachers. Goodbye teaching license. Hello unemployment.

Seems in my grade 10 history class you always seem to get one or two of the little snowflakes acting up until I remind them that I have the mark book, and I get to assign which students go to which classrooms next year if they fail. Basically they’re mine till they pass the prerequisite class. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Either way I’m back teaching grade 10 history next year, and I really don’t give a shit if you’re back for the second or third time.

  • Maggat

Both of my boys had the mouth washed out with soap routine, once was enough.

  • canminuteman

Yes, but if the kid called someone a gayboy can the adult have him charged with a homophobic hate crime?

    • Clausewitz

Not if they’re Muslim. Islam beats Gay on the HRC scale of offensiveness.

  • tom_billesley

He bought a three pack of soap, so he still has a bar for each parent.

  • Note his trashy mother defending that little brat.

If children DO cuss and badger old men who walk with the aid of canes, first slap the parent (s) and then the children.

That man should be given a medal.

  • Bearspaw

Not only is this act correct, Rian should have used the other two bars and given the brats mother a good scrubbing. What a vile cow.
