ISIS is forcing the West to consider a risky strategy

When it comes to defeating ISIS without putting boots on the ground, the US-led coalition is running out of ideas.

A US-led initiative to train and equip 5,000 moderate Syrian rebels has graduated just 60 soldiers in six months, Iraqi security forces are still complaining that they are unprepared and ill-equipped to face the extremists, and Kurdish advances against ISIS, while notable, have irked Turkey and exacerbated ethnic tensions in the region.

F*ck the U.N. and the Geneva convention. Special circumstances require special tactics.

Fuck turkey. render all aid and material assistance to the kurds and let the cards play out turkey is no friend to the west and seeks alignment with the islamists let them go . the region needs to dump all the old borders ,inscribed by gin soaked generals years ago with no recognition of ethnic or historic boundaries. Let the kurds straighten their world up as they see fit once isis is defeated as a partial pay off for their moral leadership . Turkey is an isis sympathizer and must not be trusted at all. give turkey to the greeks ,they might be able to loot their way back to solvency.

  • The US, believing the Taliban to be a better devil than the former Soviet Union, helped make it strong enough that it would attack the US at a later date. If the US (Obama or not) ever sides with the devil it knows once more, it will be finished.

Arm Christians, support a Kurdish state and Israel, bomb the sh– out of ISIS, revoke ISIS member passports and toss out their families and refuse to back ANY Islamist state from here on out.

    One can start there.

What I don’t understand is why Obama and all the other NATO countries are still calling for the overthrow of Assad in Syria? Didn’t they learn their lesson from Libya and Iraq?

Syria has close to 2 million Christians. If Assad if overthrown ISIS will take over and up to 2 million Christians along with other minorities will be exterminated. What is the problem that the U.S. and it’s allies have with Assad? He used to be an ally in the war against terrorism (Syria was the destination for many CIA rendition flights).

Syria is a secular country and Assad has a very western style home life (you won’t see his beautiful wife wearing a hijab ). Just because Saudi Arabia and Qatar want Assad eliminated does that mean we have to go along with this plan? Is it because Russia and Iran are supporting Assad that we need to do just the opposite?

If the west joined with Russia and Iran in providing military support to Syria we could eliminate ISIS completely. Likewise we should be giving direct military support to the Kurds. If Turkey doesn’t like it tough! In fact we should kick Turkey out of NATO while we are at it!

So the last time the US trained “Moderate” Syrian Rebels we got ISIS. Yeah that worked out well.
