U.S. President Obama and Israel's PM Netanyahu meet in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington

Don’t panic over Democratic Party ‘opinion elites’

“To read the findings of pollster Frank Luntz, as published on Sunday in The Times of Israel, one might think that Israel faces dire public opinion times in the U.S…

Three quarters of highly educated, high income, publicly active US Democrats — the so-called ‘opinion elites’ — believe Israel has too much influence on US foreign policy, almost half of them consider Israel to be a racist country, and fewer than half of them believe that Israel wants peace with its neighbors.”

The report has caused grave concern in some pro-Israel circles, and near euphoria in anti-Israel circles.

But is the panic warranted?”

Fair enough. The key Issue for Israel is how best to break away from the US. There are three priorities – 1) Establish stronger trade, diplomatic and military relations with India and Asia. 2) Economic development that will fast track the elimination of all US aid. 3) Sidestepping the UN and work outside of that broken system with regional partners.

I would like to see Israel split from the US in permanent and fundamental ways. The US should be no more an ‘ally’ than Colombia. Then all the liberal Democratic Jews can go their merry way to be whatever they want to be, w/o pretending to be ‘pro Israel’.

    • That may come, I doubt that Israel needs the 3 billion in uS military aid etc, they are capable of themselves.

      • Exile1981

They have been making trade deals with Canada lately.

        • Israel does need the world for trade. They will make their way just fine.

        • Norman_In_New_York

When it comes to trade, Israel’s sound strategy is to build the proverbial better mousetrap.

liberal Democratic Jews = Quislings and collaborators

Israel needs our vote on the UN Security Council,,,or put India on the SC ( watch Pakistan’s head explode fun)

      • Hard Little Machine

I don’t think our ‘vote’ is entirely crucial anymore. What’s more important is having support elsewhere. When India, Taiwan. South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore and possibly China are on your side, the fact that the UN is screaming for your extermination is less relevant. The US dangles its threats to Israel because the US thinks it wants something or has something to gain. But it’s the US that’s pulling out of the world in general. It’s the US who’s uninterested in the world. Obama has one agenda vis a vis the UN – Promote violent Muslim extremism. Beyond that he’s as happy to watch the world burn as the fellows he’s backing.

Obozo is pulling out,,,he’s gone in soon.

      • Clausewitz

Israel, along with Canada and every other self respecting Democracy (this does not include any Democrat lead US government) needs to leave the UN and start their own association of Democratic governments for trade and mutual defense.

        • MRHapla

yeah, that’s only several decades overdue.

          • Clausewitz

Exactly. I’ve been singing this hymn for more than 20 years.

  • Norman_In_New_York

Democratic Party opinion elites, including the MSM, tend to isolate themselves from public opinion at large and circle the wagons when contrary truths are put forth. That’s why the MSM keeps calling elections wrong.

    • MRHapla

or there’s a ‘fix” in somewhere,,,,,,,,,,,

  • How the hell do you make peace with people who have a religious obligation to kill you?

    • Minicapt

      … kill them.

      • MRHapla

        Islam pulled first,,we are faster,,,,,,,,

This used to be a peaceful planet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

      • That works for me.
