Everything Free In America! Puerto Rico Is Going Broke

Puerto Rico’s Governor Says Island’s Debts Are ‘Not Payable’

  • Exile1981

I’m not sure that most of the countries debts are payable,

    • Ontario ain’t even a country and we can’t pay.

      • Gaian

Ontario – $315 billion in debt and dipstick Wynn taking bribes from industrial wind developers.

    • Alain

      True, especially Washington’s debts.

  • Ron MacDonald

They should take a good hard look at Cuba because that’s what Puerto Rico will resemble some day.

See the pretty girl in that mirror there? Who can that attractive girl be?
I feel pretty. Oh so pretty. Oh so pretty and witty and…

Oh. Sorry. I thought this was the Justin carbon tax thread. Never mind.

      Great musical.
But. Jeepers Puerto Rico is roughly $72 billion in debts….and we’re just getting the news now?????!!! Why hasn’t the problem been dealt with decades before this announcement.

      • Minicapt

It has been, using Obamanomics and paper cash.

Mark Krikorian (of CIS.org) suggests on FB: “How about this: US assumes Puerto Rico’s entire debt in exchange for immediate independence & no dual citizenship”

    Works for me.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

      People keep stealing my thoughts!!!

      How do you do that?

  • Drunk_by_Noon

I think we (the U.S.) should assume their debt in exchange for their immediate independence.
Puerto Rico is one of the biggest welfare leaches we have ever had foisted upon the U.S. taxpayer seconded only by illegal immigrants.

The only things I know about Puerto Ricans I learned from All in the Family and Barney Miller and Welcome Back Kotter.

      • Drunk_by_Noon

If Puerto Ricans really did act that way (as a collective) nobody would care.
Better that Hatians, not as good as Cubans, on the whole.
Until recently, they were the sole source of Hispanic crime in NYC and a significant part of that city’s welfare burden, after blacks of course.

Hey, but you could count on Epstein for a laugh, you know.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

Yeah, he died a few years back.

          • dance…dancetotheradio

            I thought that was Horshack.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            He died too.

  • Gaian

Puerto Rico has always been a toilet. The US uses it for military reasons and hasn’t pushed the fools running the civilian front to apply for statehood. That would raise too many questions about what the US military is really doing there. There has already been a quiet bill pushed through to cover Puerto Rico’s ass.

Declare them all honorary illegal aliens and shovel money at them.
