Toronto: Lesbian Pastry Maker Seeks Big Dough From Sexist Chefs

A Toronto cook alleges she was badgered about her sexuality, touched without consent and subjected to a sexist work atmosphere by three former bosses at one of the city’s most popular, high-profile restaurants.

Between July 2012 and January 2014, Kate Burnham, a former pastry chef at Weslodge restaurant, was routinely sexually harassed and abused at the King Street W. eatery, according to the application she has filed in Ontario’s Human Rights Tribunal.

Burnham, now 24, is seeking $225,000 in damages and formal apologies from each of her alleged harassers. She is also asking the tribunal to order Weslodge staff and each of the three former chefs to take training in how to spot and stop sexual harassment.

    THAT’S IT! THAT’S IT! From now on I am only going to hire those who have had frontal lobotomies or who are fully documented zombies.
    Then there will be no more talking back. No more false claims. No more calling in to take the day off for a bad hair day. No more demands to go pray five times a day on paid time, or get the month of Ramadan off with pay!
    With my new hiring policy all I have to worry about is all the drool and the occasional customer who has their brains eaten, which I am sure will be defended in favour of my employees and therefore myself (thanks to my affirmative action hiring) by the Human Rights Commissions.
