Feminist Website Bans Use of “Trigger Warnings” Citing “Trigger” as “Triggering”

Don't trigger her. You wouldn't like her when she's triggered.

Don’t trigger her. You wouldn’t like her when she’s triggered.

At the beginning of the article, however, there is a multiple-paragraph warning about its content. It begins (emphasis theirs): “Editors Note: Like this phenomenal article, Everyday Feminism definitely believes in giving people a heads up about material that might provoke our reader’s trauma. However, we use the phrase “content warning” instead of “trigger warning,” as the word “trigger” relies on and evokes violent weaponry imagery.

Maybe we ought to simply adopt Orwell’s “duckspeak” and speak/quack to each other in meaningless, incomprehensible duck sounds which will be taken to represent generalized approval of the State, of feminist/transgender ideals, etc. Quack, quack.

    • It may help;)

    • Doug Kursk

Quack quack, baby!..in my best beatnik, fingering snapping voice.

      • mobuyus

Somehow I knew you were a beatnik.

    • Contemporary feminism has devolved into bunch of whining spoiled brats, brainwashed by PC bigots.

  • Brett_McS

    *Ahem*. War-ning?

  • G

And somebody sat around thinking this shit up and discussing it and getting it approved?
STFU and go find something useful to do.

    • Doug Kursk

That was my first reaction… looked up at the ceiling and said STFU!!

    • just a thought

      And of cour$e getting paid.

“What do you think we can pass off this time? We have to come up with some BS we can sell them, and we’re running out of all but the nuttiest stuff.”

  • simus1

Some sort of “Snowflake Protection Icon” is obviously needed to alert western feminists they are about to be microaggressed by exposure to unacceptable “mandeas”.

“Next week.. “Content Warning” language is declared to be triggering due to its close relationship with actual trigger warnings and is to be replaced with a small picture of a kitten”

    • Doug Kursk

…It will work until the first snowflake complains about once having been gang raped by a roving litter of kittens..

  • Hard Little Machine

    Come on that’s pretty funny.

  • Doug Kursk

Clearly, somebody in this family ought to be able to read…

  • Thermblog

I assume that cocking (but not triggering) her is out of the question?

  • Thank you for introducing Everyday Feminism – I just read several of their articles. It looks like bad satire, but apparently the authors are absolutely serious. Somebody was promoting “decolonial dating,” which should target oppressed minorities and focus not on primary attraction, but on social justice and traits that the patriarchal society dislikes. A weird Chinese girl was arguing in another article that the myth of the Asians being smart hurts other minorities and especially their self-image, so it should be fought. That girl’s family came to the USA for the political freedom, but she realized that the “freedom” is just a placard hiding colonialism, slavery and genocide.

That insanity beats even York University.

    • kkruger71

I had a good laugh looking around there too.
Did you check out the “19 powerful photos” article? At one point she writes “white vigilante George Zimmerman” as an example of racism, then later in the same article “five black and Latino men who as teenagers were wrongfully convicted in the 1989 gang rape of a white woman” as another example. So right within the same article Latinos switch between white or non-white, depending on which one somehow proves racism by white people.

I especially “enjoyed” the article that blames Christians for all sorts of sex related issues the author seems to have. – sarc

  • BillyHW

    Women. Voting. Yadda yadda yadda.

  • Aren’t we a little tired of having to think twice about this crap before we write or speak? There really is no length to which they will not go to control speech and thought.

Actually, the entire English language is a tool of the oppressive western culture. As such it could trigger (sorry!) emotional distress in the unsuccessful and mentally challenged and should be declared unusable and verboten. Oopsy daisy! verboten is German (thats no good).

I guess maybe we should encourage these nutbags to write their drivel in Cherokee (one of the few tribes that learned how to write their language down from the white oppressors). We know how they love to idealize the Indians (oh damn, I mean Native Americans!) .

That way they won’t have to STFU (which is highly unlikely, if not impossible anyway),

    • mobuyus

Being Indian is a state of mind open to all.

  • moraywatson

    What about outriggers?

  • just a thought

For me the word “trigger” conjures up an image of handsome and clever horses,
so naturally dumb horses would be jealous. 🙂

  • Waffle

Speaking of triggers? There’s a song for that:

  • mobuyus

These feminists have got to stop shaving their scrotums and knock off the soft pills.

Aristotle would have put those deranged leftist pseudo-intellectuals through the sword; the coming push back is going to be epic! http://media-3.web.britannica.com/eb-media/32/130832-004-2ADE8EF5.jpg

The hair color is very unbecoming. should be banned.

  • ntt1

This crap triggers memories of an old joke about RoyRogers being advised to return home immediately. Because his wife Dale Evans was (wait for it) getting Trigger happy. In the same vein I figure big red pictured might take to a western saddle bit and bridle quite well
