STFU: Canada should establish a national watchdog agency to ensure the country truly atones for “cultural genocide”

Canada should establish a national watchdog agency to ensure the country truly atones for the “cultural genocide” committed in past decades against thousands of indigenous children forced into residential schools, says the special commission looking into the brutal history of that policy.

This Canadian judge wants “Holocaust denial” style laws restricting debate about residential schools

Yeah, because billions-upon-billions of dollars a year isn’t enough. 🙁

(Is it today’s front-page Ibison column? I didn’t want to dignify it with a click-through.)

  • Ron MacDonald

I went to Catholic schools, some of my teachers were formerly employed as teachers in the residential school system. It wasn’t just the First Nations students that were subject to violence at the whim of these bastards.

    • Justin St.Denis

I went to school in Sturgeon Falls, Ont. My school was 60% native enrolment. During my time in school, dozens of native kids were “found” dead somewhere, killed in bizarre accidents, etc. I also saw the most abusive parenting I have ever heard about since. Again, native parents. I learned to never buy property anywhere near a native reserve, among other things. I also determined long ago that MY kids would be kept away from the whole “native” thing until they were older, educated and could understand the effects of government-subsidized infantilism of a racial component of the population.

      Catholicism is Satanic.

White guilt and much of everything else the white man brought here is radically incompatible with the kind of culture the tribes practised pre-Columbus. Of course the residential schools aimed to destroy the aboriginal culture, is that really news? Yes it could have been done better… Ijust wish the white guilters had an ounce of intellectual curiosity about what their white man’s burden redux is doing to the possibilities for integration of aboriginals into the modern world, or do they really want them to live forever in gilded museums as white guilt rent collectors? or as independent nations (without the population really to be nations, but if they were nations they couldn’t be tribal in culture…) say on the wonderfully successful post-colonial model of Africa? Long live the chiefs!

  • Clear Thinker

When they go after the Chiefs(and their descendants) who sent letters to the government to beg to send their children to these schools, then I will add an extra quarter to the pot. This is a culture of envy and thievery and we thought we could stop it, but we didn’t, and now they are back for a redo. I am not saying get over it, I am saying get through it. I am still mad about 1066, I hate those Norman bastards, oh, I now have Norman blood in me………………nevermind.

    • Rosenmops

I’m mad as hell about the Battle of Culloden and the Highland Clearances and genocide that followed. Those English bastards outlawed Gaelic in the schools and the wearing of tartan. Where is my reparation??

      • LauraS

Och, I ken whit yer sayin’! Perhaps we should be launching “reconciliation and healing” rackets, too.

While I’m sure some horrible abuses did take place, I’d like to know how the aboriginal children in these schools compared to aboriginal children–or any Canadian children–of the same eras. Child mortality was high, and lots of parents, teachers, employers beat children.

Also: What’s their excuse today? Can we hold native leaders to account for the appalling conditions aboriginal children are raised in today? I’m guessing double-standards accorded to the perpetual victims would come into play if this approach was suggested.

      • Think of all the haggis you’ve been deprived of.

        • Rosenmops

          It’s a crime against humanity.

    • Frau Katze

And don’t forget the Vikings. Those prissy Scandis need to pay for that.

They took over all sorts of coastal locations, including eastern England and northern France. Also, parts of Scotland and Ireland.

Those with UK descent could well be their descendants. But we can’t let that get in the way of s good grievance.

      • Rosenmops

        We should demand reparation!

  • Rosenmops

If they hadn’t started those schools the Natives would have bitched that their kids weren’t being educated but left in squalor with drunken parents on the reserves. You are damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

  • Rosenmops

What about the cultural genocide that is happening against Western culture in every Western country in the world?

    • Martin B

From now on, every Palestinian terrorist, every Soddy king, every Iranian ayatollah and every North Korean lunatic who gets up on their hind legs to address the UN will wag their fingers at Canada and lecture us about Cultural Genocide.

      • Rosenmops

The UN is a corrupt sewer. Should be done away with.

      • Mickey Oberman

What on earth will they then do about the perpetual and traditional scapegoats, Jews and Israel?

    • ntt1

They acknowledge that , they recognize whites are being replaced ,that’s why the commission recommends all immigrants be required to swear to uphold the treaties before they are granted landed immigrant status

      • Rosenmops

“… all immigrants be required to swear to uphold the treaties before they are granted landed immigrant status.”

And we all know Muslims would never lie.

        • ntt1

I have spoken to a number of well educated informed Indians about this process and they have supported the idea that they only have a few years left to get their goals met before changing demographics start to turn the tables on them.

          • Rosenmops

    • Canadian Born

You are right no one is protecting Canada from white genocide or our cultural genocide. Who will protect our grandchildren, our great grandchildren and so on from white genocide? It sure won’t be the non white foreigners in this country will it?

  • Martin B

Dear Special Commission: Fuck Off And Die.

  • Palidor

Free speech died with the introduction of “holocaust denial” style laws. Lets not shackle the corpse with more protected groups that want to restrict debate.

    • ntt1

We don’t have any holocaust denial laws ,yet a Canadian judge doesn’t know this? What else has he got wrong?

  • Dana Garcia

    “Atone” = shakedown in perpetuity.

    • Justin St.Denis

      Nailed it.

  • I see the National Post has removed the comments.

    • Frau Katze

Too many not following The Narrative?

      • ntt1

the usual stuff as soon as there is a preponderance of comments going against the article the whole thing is pulled. Prior to that they juggle blocks of comments and bury them deep in earlier comments. after that fails then they dump the whole section.

    • ntt1

This really steams me, all day CBC has been propagandizing this issue with its usual blend of moderate left -far left panels. now the papers are cutting off the one area where ordinary Canadians can vent, meanwhile we have sitting judges exhorting the curtailment of free speech on ideological basis,. Is the intent to stifle dissenting views and push through a bunch of incredibly destructive legislation? If this one judge is so intensely biased how can we trust his other unelected colleagues? Beverly McLaughlin has already stated we are all guilty of genocide .Can she force through more embellishments to trudeaus constitution that verge on legislation? Why is she still sitting?

  • Minicapt

The truth about the residential schools went underground in the early 80s when it interfered with the profitability of the suffering narratives.
