Greece: Coast Guard, police linked to migrant traffickers

An investigation by the internal affairs department of the Greek Police (ELAS) has linked the leadership of the country’s Coast Guard as well as officers of the police and of the National Intelligence Service (EYP) to migrant trafficking rackets, as daily Kathimerini reported.

Three top-ranking officers of the Coast Guard have been implicated in the operation of human smuggling rackets, according to a well-informed source. The extent of their involvement is to be determined by corruption prosecutors who have been given the report by internal affairs officers…

Not much of a surprise. I have read of similar cases in Italy.

These corrupt traitors are endangering all of Europe. Once again, the EU fails to take leadership.

This revelation wil have no effect on the eagerness of north European states to accept a quota of the invaders that have landed in Greece.

Where there is money to be made duty goes out the window. Lets see if those accused officials had the foresight to set enough money aside for their legal defense…

These guys might have been working for nothing for a government that hasn’t paid them.
      Doesn’t make it right.

I was referring more to the three top officials who are giving the orders and not the guys at the bottom who have to do the dirty work.
