Bakery found guilty of discrimination for refusing to bake cake with pro-gay message

Big GayBELFAST, IRELAND—A Belfast bakery has been found guilty of discrimination for refusing to bake a cake bearing the slogan “Support Gay Marriage.”

In Tuesday’s ruling, Belfast Judge Isobel Brownlie called the bakery’s cancellation of the order “direct discrimination for which there can be no justification.” The judge said the bakery was a business, not a religious organization. She didn’t immediately specify a punishment.

I believe Limbaugh had a solution for this scumball activity. Just tell the gay “customers” that you cannot do that particular job because it would offend muslims. And then let the writhing and fretting unspool.

    • That is perfect.

      It’s a safety issue, really,,,,,,,,,,,

  • ontario john

But Michael Coren is tweeting that Jesus would have baked the cake. How can Michael be wrong. He has always been consistent in his beliefs throughout his career.

    • Is he really?

      • ontario john

His tweeter homepage looks like a section of the Toronto Star.

Disgusting shit to read but some times you have to know your enemas.

Coren’s trying really hard to get invited to all the cool parties.

        • andycanuck

Even in his previous various faux Christian personae he was always a bleeding-heart who was soft on crime (poverty!) and pro-labour (bus drivers DESERVE $40/hour because it’s not a job I would ever do!) despite the fact that Coren would probably be in a concentration camp if his buddy Syd were running Canada.

He recently called opponents of Ontario’s sex education curriculum “zealots” for daring to have issues with it. He can change is opinion on an issue but if someone refuses to do as well he resorts to name calling. He will fit right in with the likes of Haroon Siddiqui and Heather Mallick with the Toronto Star. Now as I have for seen he is attacking people who don’t believe in man made climate change. TOTAL LIER AND HYPOCRITE.

Pope's words on environment will outrage Catholic climate change deniers. There are many on right wing of church.— Michael Coren (@michaelcoren) April 28, 2015

      • Can he just stop being ridiculous now?

        Check for pod people.

This is what Michael Coren thinks of the Christian Bakers getting persecuted by the Gay tyrannicals while remaining silent of ISIS killing of gays by throwing them off buildings.

      • Clink9

He’s loving the new attention from the haters on the right ( anyone that disagrees ).

        Poor me!

    • Impossible.

      Jesus was a carpenter.

      And a part-time vintner.

    • occupant 9

Jesus, was a carpenter. He could have built them a Trojan Horse …

  • tom_billesley

The Star doesn’t mention that the happy couplers wanted images of gay icons Bert and Ernie iced on the cake. The bakers could have said they were unwilling to infringe copyright.

    • occupant 9

Here we have the roots of the gay movement; the appropriation of whatever used to be considered wholesome and clean into sexual acts involving fecal matter.

Consider how many icons and symbols have been effed by the gay barrage, from the rainbow to Ernie/Bert? They say their lobby is all about “love” when in fact it is all about trying to normalize deviance which is why gays cannot see Ernie/Bert as mere roommates, but MUST sexualize everything with their special touch.

    bake the cake

  • andycanuck

It’s also not just ‘baking a cake’ as the lib-left and Coren (but I repeat myself) pretend. It involves setting it up onsite in its place of honour, assembling the cake parts, and doing a bit of extra decorating all of which happens at the banquet site so you literally have to attend the function. I also understand it’s not uncommon in the States for the cake-maker to be invited to the party as well as it’s so much effort doing the cake work and not in any way the equivalent of buying an off-the-shelf birthday cake, even one slightly-customized with a name added under the extant “Happy Birthday” decoration.

The government has no place in the bedrooms of the nation ( Turdeau senior) but it’s OK for the gay nazi storm troopers to force a business to serve them.

      This will not end well.

      • Alain

When the government dictates to businesses it is called communism.

        • occupant 9

          … and/or fascism.

  • mobuyus

Just have off the rack cock shaped cakes for these customers all gays even the female variety will appreciate them.

  • Martin B

Has anyone out there ever asked a gay bakery to bake a cake with the slogan “Support Traditional Marriage” just to see what would happen?

  • oldguy

Have you noticed how fascist western women who attain authority have become?

  • pdxnag

See how easy that was. It is all in how you frame the question. Is the bakery a business?

Apply that to the question of Islam. Is Islam a violent seditions political organization? (Leave the word religion out of the inquiry entirely.) The answer, and an effective remedy will then just write itself.

  • no4

Gay marriage is not even legal in Northern Ireland.
I hope some of the fellers from the Shankhill will pay Mr Lee and his bum chum a visit.

If you think that story is bad…………………

    • Clink9

That is sick making. So many things wrong. Guys (gays), it’s supposed to be a one way valve.

  • Alright.

    Bake their cakes.

Make them pick up their court-ordered confections at Muslim bakeries.

  • warrenzoell

When I was a printing pressman we’d often get homosexual groups coming in wanting us to print their stuff and I must say a lot of it was pretty offensive.
I told my boss that if he expected me to print this , then he might as well fire me right now.
His response was not to worry about it. He said give them a price and a turn around time that would choke a horse. They always went elsewhere.
Which leads me to the question. Should the truth be reserved for those who deserve truth? Should this baker and printers like Scott Brockie simply have lied? Do these homosexual activists deserve the truth?

    • El Martyachi

It’s called dynamic pricing and is the way things are done everywhere all the time. Occasionally some become aware they’ve been shorn too closely and object.
Your boss might have done the work at the quoted price. His “price that would choke a horse” was the price at which he was willing to endure a-holes.
