The Vape Update…

So… The edema is still going strong at the end of week 3 but…

I had my last real cigarette a week ago today if…

you don’t count Tuesday morning’s single puff which happened as if in a dream…

I woke up, grabbed a coffee and next thing I knew I was sucking on a Cig.

Having caught myself I extinguished the demon weed having only taken the one drag.

If you wish I will say I have not been butt free entirely however for someone who was a 2 pack a day man my progress has been nothing short of amazing, at least to me.

As a precaution I have moved the pack of smokes to a less accessible area away from my morning coffee route.

Thank you all for your encouragement and support.

Gratuitous pic of scantily clad Vape. I am not sure those shoes are ideal for scrambling across rocks.

Your best friend could become your worst enemy.

    • I once got a fortune cookie that said that.

      • Mal

My pharmacist (an Asian feller) once told me the best fortune cookie aphorism I ever heard: “Friends may come and go; but enemies accumulate.”

You right miss,we always have to watch ,where or next step is going be.

    Good on ya, Blazer.
I’ve never smoked in my life, but now that it’s so socially unacceptable I’m thinking of taking it up.
Best of luck on your quest, mate.

  • Dis

Where can i get one of them? I tried once, but it wasn’t very satisfying. Looked quite different. Maybe I need to spend more money.

Vapes, that is. Not the babes in vapourwear.

You posted the link once, but i don’t remember the details.

    Congrats on your progress.

Thanks Cat. Just bought a istick30W.

Am firmly resolved not to be a total quitter, but it’s high time for a drastic reduction, at least.

Good luck with the edema. That’s gotta be getting old fast.

        • Yea it sucks, I could barely get a pair of dress shoes on last week that normally fit well.

  • You deserve that new pair of pants!

Good job, BCF. You’re going to be so glad you did this – and feel a lot better too!

I had to give up smoking, drinking, and sex all at the same time.
It was the longest 20 minutes of my life.

  • Osh

Keep it up, Blaze. Your encouraging me to try again.

  • Blacksmith

    What shoes??????
Seriously though WELL DONE! hoping a praying for your continued success!

  • chayisun

Well, sort of congratulations. Since you moved the pack to a less accessible spot. That is good. It ain’t easy. However, with great willpower and support you will win the fight.

As for me, I have my own problem. I’m trying to give up…..Chocolates. Normally I have 10-12 chocolate bars in the fridge. They don’t last long. I know, I know, I’m an addict. Chocoholic they call it. It’s really sad. I see a chocolate bar and I’ve gotta have it!

It’s been so bad that, at Easter, I have been banned at Laura Secord. I buy all their chocolate eggs which is good for them I suppose but it’s when I go back and they don’t have anymore. I’m told that my crying upsets the other customers so I’m not allowed back there.

So, in order to stop this terrible addiction I have hidden all my chocolate bars. That should do it.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have to unwrap this Mars bar. Just one more……

    • Me luv chocolate;)

    • Miss Trixie

Since I quit three years ago, I’ve developed a taste for a bite or two of dark chocolate, to be enjoyed every day, usually after a good meal.

Yesterday, my sister introduced me to dark chocolate gelato …. … … and I’m in serious trouble.

I had NO idea I could enjoy heaven on a spoon … …

    Keep working through it.
Peppermint lollies are good for craving.

Very cool! I hope to get one soon!

    • My gear has already paid for itself.

BCF, what unit were you using before the iStick 30w?
I used the “PureSmoke” unit when they first came out. Clumsy to deal with.
Was buying the liquid from Johnson Creek as they carried nice flavors – it was hard to source USA made juice back then. Gotta get back into this…

  • So that was the strange device you had at the pub two weeks ago. I am glad it worked for you. I used to smoke about 2 packs a day (and enjoy cigars) until 1998. The only thing that worked for me was a series of hypnosis tapes that instilled anti-cigarette revulsion in my mind – now, just being around a smoker (especially with a cigar) makes me feel like vomiting.

    • Miss Trixie

Congrats on keeping your quit! Very well done, darls!

    • ntt1

my hypnosis, that got me off a 3 pack a day 25 years ago refocused my memories of that first cigarette( players navy cut behind gym in grade 7)and the unwise combo of several liquorice jaw breakers, and the intense nausea that laid me out for an hour or so, It was such an intense re-imaging that it got me gagging in the hypnotists office, it worked for me with no relapse and no revulsion for my former brother smokers as a nice side bar.

Mark Twain said, “Quitting smoking is easy. I’ve done it a hundred times.” (He smoked cigars.)
