Cartoonists are Controversial and Murderers are Moderate

Controversial, intolerant and provocative. Mainstream media outlets broke out these three words to describe the “Draw the Prophet” contest, the American Freedom Defense Initiative and Pamela Geller.

While the police were still checking cars for explosives and attendees waited to be released, CNN called AFDI, rather than the terrorists who attacked a cartoon contest, “intolerant.”

Time dubbed the group “controversial”. The Washington Post called the contest, “provocative.”

Many media outlets relied on the expert opinion of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a multi-million dollar mail order scam disguised as a civil rights group, which had listed AFDI as a hate group…

All of these American pundits, using “provocative” like a slur…Since when is being provocative a bad thing in America? Have any of these fucking clowns ever read the Declaration of Independence? Don’t they think that was very deliberately provocative? Up yours, King George! …Land of the Free and Home of the Brave? Definitely not in newsrooms.

      No kidding.

Willie and Merle have a song for this:

  • Billy Bob Thornton

This is very accurate to describe what the cartoonists are:

    They want a response.

They don’t care about if they cause conflict and that is what I will always believe.

People tend to believe what their ideology is and that is why many on here believe in offending on purpose. The people on here despise Muslims because anything different they want to hate on purpose.

It is because you are not part of that faith so why should I care.

It is an I don’t care mentality.

  • Billy Bob Thornton

This is probably the most accurate article showing that both parties are for perpetual war:

I find it laughable that people on here don’t complain about corporatism, crony capitalism, the war machine, war on demand and controlled opposition. It seems to me that many on here are for the status quo which means an inevitable rush to Iran, and probably Russia and China.

Many on here seem to want the rapture and WW3.

  • Billy Bob Thornton

It is clear that Pam Geller hates Muslims:

She has responded so many times that she is not Muslim or part of Islam so why would anyone not part of a faith care what they do.

That is why I have talked to many on here and I have seen their responses all too well.

They want to not be respectful and many would welcome massive war and maybe total war.

Geller doesn’t seek to educate or help reform.

    Thom Hartmann just nails it.

    • Blacksmith

“She has responded so many times that she is not Muslim or part of Islam so why would anyone not part of a faith care what they do.”
Oh I don’t know, maybe she see how muslims treat anyone not of their particular flavor and decided to sound the alarm. You better check your dosage, It seems to be a little off.

    • We get it. You think Geller has cooties and is a big ole meany-pants. I don’t even care if it’s true. Why do you think that’s what this is about?

(If this droning, disorganized Hartmann twit was typical of Air America then I can see why it went belly up. Good Lord.)

      • Billy Bob Thornton

I am not a Fox News watcher mainly because media in the US it even says don’t have to tell the truth to their viewers, so they could be getting outright lies and party propaganda.

The fact is this is the same type of mentality we had in the 30’s.

Scapegoating of Muslims. What is next internment camps? Forced deportations? People have a right to ask.

        • Look at all the mean things you are saying about Pam Geller and Robert Spencer! Billy Bob, do you want to round up critics of Islam and put them in internment camps? We have a right to know!!!!

          • Billy Bob Thornton

No I don’t want anyone placed in internment camps, but I have a right to know how far the right wants to go in scapegoating and other potential acts. Remember that fascism means the merger of state and corporate power, defined by Mussolini. Most Western democracies are for war on demand, massive corporate welfare and emulating the US economic model, so it is the politicians that are warmongers that we the people need to look at to make sure they don’t go completely rogue.

      • Billy Bob Thornton

Also, what does this have to do with Air America? Oh ya I seem to recall that Obama was elected and this mentality comes from the neocon right that hates the left so much they feel their media would never catch on.

The basic fact is Obama got elected because of the economic failures of the Bush administration and McCain lost due to the crises on Wall St. in 2008. Is that amnesia because the fact is those events did occur? Of course, I think America needs someone like Nader to rescue their system from corporate ownership on a massive scale.
