It makes a nice break from depressing news.

They’re very “impressionistic” photographs. Amazing work.

The real problem is having to live in this area …

OK, Frau, we know you live in the most beautiful city in Canada – now stop showing off!

I always thought Vancouver was more beautiful. I grew up in West Van. The view from our house was spectacular. I have lots of great pix (all on film, of course).

(No way could I afford to live there now, it’s become extremely expensive).

The mild wet climate does make Victoria a great place for gardens.

I haven’t been to either city, and are basing my views on other peoples’ accounts. I have heard generally good things about Vancouver too. A friend was there a few weeks ago (visiting another friend who lives in Abbotsford) and commented on the … diversity of the city, and how rude and unfriendly many of those diverse elements were . She also mentioned the outrageous house prices. I guess the weather is a tad better in Victoria as well.

Yes, greater Vancouver has become very “vibrant.”

Far fewer have come to Victoria. It is a two-hour ferry ride and it puts the new immigrants off.

They cluster together in the Vancouver area.
