Oh man. this brings back wonderful memories. Australia and New Zealand are such great places to travel. I did it alone a long time ago. Best trip I ever did.

I’ve never been there. My daughter visited Australia…but I never did any international travel (except road trips to the US). Too expensive.

      • Such diversity.

I keep looking for pretty pix though. There aren’t all that many but I must admit I haven’t tried that hard,

It seems that the number of pretty pix has more to do with number of first worlders living or visiting there. The US has by far the most pix, although Canada is just as scenic (especially BC). But our population is small.

There are far more pix of the UK than BC…just because the population is larger.

Oz doesn’t have a US or UK sized population either.

It was a life dream, for which I saved up for 10 years and quit my job to go on. I was even in Fiji for one of the military coups. The whole trip was a great experience. if I ever chose to live elsewhere, it would be New Zealand or Ireland. NZ is only a 2 or 3 hour flight (don’t remember exactly how long) to Oz.

  • I miss Oz like Batman misses his parents. Or something. I like the place, anyway.

    • Come for the Vegemite, stay for the scenery.

We spent eight months in Sydney years ago. It was very interesting and we enjoyed our time there, but we both found it way too hot for us. Also, Sydney has the wildest police chases I have ever seen, and most end unsuccessfully. Take a pencil and scribble all over a sheet of paper and what you get pretty much resembles a Sydney street map. It really is quite weird.

On the way back to Canada, we vacationed in New Zealand for two months, and we both loved it. Absolutely one of the most beautiful countries I have ever seen, bar none. Especially if you are an outdoorsy type of person! We plan on returning to NZ for an extended holiday in the near future.
