Trudeau calls new warnings about Muslim radicalization “fear mongering”

Justin Trudeau picks and chooses which “experts” he takes advice from, and he’s decided to dismiss the country’s National Security Adviser’s latest warnings as “fear mongering.”

    Trudeau is perceptually challenged.
He must be one of those people who hears colours.

Ah, “fear mongering” — that lovely over-used phrase that everybody understands. Right? Here is the Wikipedia definition:

“A buzzword is a word or phrase that becomes very popular for a period of time. It may be a technical term and may have little meaning, being simply used to impress others.[ Buzzwords often originate injargon, acronyms, or neologisms. Business speech is particularly vulnerable to buzzwords. Examples of overworked business buzzwords include synergy, vertical, dynamic, and strategy; one of the most heavily used buzzword phrases is “think outside the box.”

It has been stated that a business could not operate without buzzwords; they are shorthand or internal shortcuts and they make perfect sense to the people in that company.[4] However, a useful buzzword can become co-opted into general popular speech and lose its usefulness. According to management professor Robert Kreitner, “Buzzwords are the literary equivalent of Gresham’s Law. They will drive out good ideas.”

Buzzwords are also prominent in politics, where they can result in a process which “privileges rhetoric over reality, producing policies that are ‘operationalized’ first and only ‘conceptualized’ at a later date.” The resulting political speech is known for “eschewing reasoned debate (as characterized by the use of evidence and structured argument), instead employing language exclusively for the purposes of control and manipulation.”

The term was first used in 1946 as student slang”

My biggest fear is this f*cking nutbar becoming PM…

      He won’t be PM.
They gave him the leadership because they had to answer the question of his inevitability.
      Once answered, he’ll scarper.

I hope you’re right. However, there’s many a nutbar voter in this country, so I’ll be remaining nervous until the votes are all counted on election night… 😉

Canada is a signatory to international treaties on drugs.
          Legalization requires breaking those treaties.

Someone should ask Trudeau how to wriggle off that hook.

People will overlook that. Trust me. I’ve resigned myself to him becoming PM. I might have to stop reading the news.
