Object of feminist ire

Feminism becomes more like Islamism every day

Here’s a tip for political activists: if your rabble-rousing echoes the behaviour and ideas of Islamists, then you’re doing something wrong. Consider the Protein World advert which — clutch my pearls! — features a photo of a beautiful, svelte woman in a bikini next to the question: ‘Are you beach body ready?’ Angry women, and probably some men, have been writing outraged slogans on these posters, scribbling on the poor model’s face and body, seemingly blissfully unaware that they’re following in the footsteps of intolerant Islamic agitators.

There are no emotionally grounded feminists.
    That says much.

  • Frances

Let’s put it this way: I don’t frequent beaches which require that body. But good on those who do.

    • barryjr

If I went to those beaches everybody would know I was the lecherous pasty old fat balding guy there to ogle the beautiful girls.

  • She’s cute.

    • Justin St.Denis

      Very, very cute.

      • Clink9

So sexist! The fembots would rather put her in a black garbage bag.

    • It is a sad day when PC do-gooders find fault with keeping fit.

Being fit is the key to a happy productive life.

Yes you might love your obese child. But your obese child would love themselves better if they were not a fat hog.

Spank your child. Go to jail.

Fatten them up to butter ball size. Celebrate diversity.

And the poor child misses out on real life because of your inability to come to grips with reality. Eating properly is unbelievably important.

      Count on it.

I find this humorous in the fact that the Europeans generally say Americans are prudes and this is exactly what kind of behavior they accuse us of doing. Since their pisslamist infusion they are the ones who are intolerant.

  • k1992

I feel offended, threatened and excluded by all the super rich people of the world: I think they should cough up some money to ease my discomfort (and assuage their guilt – they damn well *should* be guilty). Wait, does that make me a socialist …?

  • robins111

Nothing gets the Feminist Land Whales more upset, than pointing out just how unattractive they are.

    • Justin St.Denis

My wife calls them “lesbo lumberjacks”.

  • Justin St.Denis

Call me vain. Every Spring, I add certain ab exercises to my workouts, do extra sets of lunges and take other measures to get my body “beach ready”. I am in my mid-50s and male. I see some of my contemporaries and figure I owe it to my generation to break ranks with them. Plus I enjoy the female attention! My wife thinks I am vain, but keeps herself in size 4 shape on her NordicTrack every single day of the year. I keep my mouth shut and smile. Unlike most men my age, I can go into a store and buy my wife a hot designer outfit that I know she will love and it will fit! And I am never asked “Does this make me look fat?” Phew! 😉

    • Petey

I can respect that attitude – i tend to be like that myself, paying a fair bit of attention to my conditioning (of course, in the end, we’re stuck with the genes we’re given and have only so much room to maneuver).
But I’ve always been of two minds about it too – focusing on our physical aspects always reminded me that we’re, well, physical, and I’d like to think we’re more than that (of course, many people believe that’s all we are.) And there’s the risk of becoming vain too.
I suppose. I’m sort of at the point where I think “In moderation” it’s good. I mean, keeping in shape, especially as you age, is a lot of work, so it’s essentially a trade off – how much effort do I want to put into it and what will I get out? Will it be enough to compensate me? There’s a middle ground somewhere.

      • Justin St.Denis

I hear you. Our motivation is basically a healthy lifestyle. We eat extremely well, avoiding commercial meats in favour of wild game, and our diet is very high on vegetables, grains and natural source protein. It’s been a lifelong thing with both of us. One of our kids is a professional athlete.

      • Clink9

Yup, lots of our (middle aged ) neighbors have gone for the running craze and are paying for it now with bad knees and such. Mostly they like to parade around the streets in cool fitness gear. Then talk about it on Facebook.

I just stick to doing lots of work around the house, walking, and skiing all winter.Doing the gym thing just burned me out after years of it.

There’s some denizens of the Emirate of Tower Hamlets that object to this poster of Cara Delevigne, but it has been cleared by the Advertising Standards Authority

  • kkruger71

This follows along with Trudeau and his admiration for the Chinese government being able to “turn on a dime”. Maybe it’s been too long since there has been a real or perceived threat from any type of Communist or any other real dictatorship, these people just don’t see the negatives that come from an authoritarian state imposing what they see as best for everyone, even without the support of the majority of people. I’m also sure it does nothing to help the problem that so many activists and political leaders falsely call Harper, Bush, or any other right wing politician authoritarian, a dictator, a fascist, etc, etc. When the politician they are against is labeled these things, yet, despite not getting everything they want, their lives are comfortable and fine, it also dulls the concept of what actually imposing your beliefs on the general public would lead to.

    I am beach ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Norman_In_New_York

Send the feminists to the Netherlands. That country puts dikes to good use.

  • robins111

Apparently the Feminists are hitting back with their own posters.

  • Well- are these fat, friendless busybodies ready for the beach or aren’t they?
