Iranian-run PressTV: UK urged to fight tabloids racist remarks

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein (he is a prince from Jordan)

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has called on the British government to take necessary measures against the tabloid newspapers that incite racial hatred.

“This vicious verbal assault on migrants and asylum seekers in the UK tabloid press has continued unchallenged under the law for far too long,” said Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein on Friday, stressing that under Article 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, “Any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law.”

Hussein made the remarks in reaction to a recent controversial article published in The Sun which called migrants “cockroaches”…

I don’t see Iran (which runs PressTV) volunteering to take in any ‘migrants.’  The UN is total racket. Get rid of it now.

  • Hard Little Machine

Nuke Iran, scrape it down to the bedrock and start over with human beings this time.

    • Maggat

Perhaps a larger area, just make sure the area is properly cleansed.

    • Billy Bob Thornton

Just typical chicken hawkish behavior because why would someone gleefully want millions of people to die unless they are devilish. That is the simple truth and the West is not going to find a war with Iran easy. Russia and Iran have a pact that if one is attacked they defend the other. So WW3 would happen as a result from it. You have to be a rapturist or a fake Christian based on your comment. No Christian would ever sound like that. Maybe a Satanist but not a Christian.

      • Hard Little Machine

I would happily kill your hippie ads too.

      • BBT – this is one of your typical effectively-pro-Islamic-domination comments. The West is actually under direct existential threat: if it does not react in some strong way, it is dead. Put that in your pipe and smoke it sometime.

    • Raymond Hietapakka

iSlam is the problem. It’s not the people so much as the bad governance and destructive religious nonsense.

      • Hard Little Machine

        Fruit of the poison tree

  • barryjr

Press TV the UN, birds of a feather. Neither one are worth considering seriously other than they are both anti western, Islamic and socialist both trying for their own version of one world order.

  • roccolore

    Muslim racists defend their rapists.

  • Gettingby

All here are familiar with the daily diatribes against Jews and non Muslims in the press and on television in Muslim majority countries. Why does the UN never seem to notice that?

  • Billy Bob Thornton

The migrants left Libya and Africa due to Western intervention. They just arbitrarily picked attacking Libya at that particular moment in time when they could have done so for 30+ years. The truth is the West is completely responsible for the condition and the way Libya is in at the moment. Press TV, RT and independent media do give voices to the anti-war right and left. When will the corporate media and this new Rebel media take responsibility for the wars they have promoted and supported because they have never met a war they didn’t like. The EU is 100% responsible for what happened in Libya. NATO is also going outside its traditional role and should have ended when the Soviet Union ended. Iran is also a nation that has no history of attacking its neighbours directly. The US gave Iraq weapons to attack Iran and vice versa. The West must understand each action it does because people have long memories of colonialism, imperialism and interventionism.

    • Frau Katze

Your argument fails at another point. Non-Muslim countries have been invaded and treated badly (hideous dictators supported). Central America comes to mind.

But there are no Central American terrorists. Now why would that be?

      • Billy Bob Thornton

Well the West is the one that installed these puppet states and Britain and France did own much of the Middle East during the colonial period. Don’t forget about Sykes-Picot. I would say that Central America, South America and the Middle East have paid much for US foreign policy decisions. It is really about choices, and when choices are limited to 2 or 3 parties per Western nation then Western nations choices are limited and then things are made between left and right and about dividing us. I disagree completely about your premise of Central America because the fact is I regard it as interventionist foreign policy as the real problem which must change. We have closeness to the US and our policies are based off theirs. I would say independent foreign policy, economics and other decisions should be more popularized rather than basing everything off of what the US does.

          • Billy Bob Thornton

Too bad I don’t smoke or drink. You have me confused with someone else.

I am anti-mainstream and that could be socialist or nationalist.

          • Billy Bob Thornton

However I favour civic nationalism over racial nationalism. Something most people tend not to understand and is foreign to Canada but is alive and well in the Canadian Action party, the Scottish national party and most left wing and centrist national parties across Europe and North America. National Socialism cannot work since it reverts to racism and blaming. What Canada needs is a new party that is nationalist. Socialism won’t work in Canada and why I believe nationalism is the only way to fix Canada. And yes the Canadian Action party would actually bring down some immigration unlike the big 3 parties.

          • Drunk_by_Noon

            A Nationalist Canada?

          • Drunk_by_Noon

I know, but just because you treat you body like a temple, doesnt automatically mean you should use your mind as a “Slip’N Slide”.

          • You don’t have to smoke or drink to be flaky.

        • You did not answer Frau Katze’s objection – namely that essentially only MOSLEMS engage today in the large-scale terrorism going on across the world. Why? Because of their murderous doctrine of supremacy given in their Koran. You choose to ignore this little detail. No other group behaves in the same way, because none has the same ideology driving it.

          • Billy Bob Thornton

I do not have to answer that because I am anti-mainstream and thus I do think that going down to the level of what the mainstream wants is what is going to be the solution in the end. They have their own versions of history, talking points and what they want. They are playing for political advantages rather than defeating anything. The fact is where does the money go around the world. If one means to defeat something then wouldn’t cutting off money supply be the issue. Remember that the US wants to control resources in the region and the dichotomy in the Middle East is the Saudi Arabian alliance versus Iran’s groups. Therefore that is what people are looking at.

          • Dave Eboch

Aw Avi is a Jew crying about US foreign policy. Boo hoo Zio dog. The US should have kicked you to the curb long ago.Be gone.

        • What BBT, and sundry liberals and leftists, still do not understand is that the Arabs/Moslems are not fighting a war of liberation, or self-defense, or even revenge – they are fighting a war of AGGRESSION. Their Western supporters, like BBT, assign them motives like anti-colonialism and anti-imperialism, and the Arabs/Moslems are quite happy to take up these clichés when it suits them (takkiyah). But the historical and actual truth is that the Arabs/Moslems are ideologically, through their guidebook the Koran, all FOR imperialism and colonialism – so long as they are the perpetrators. They have been engaged in these activities for 1400 years, and now there is a resurgence of these very activities, with the whole Western world, including Europe, the US and Canada, Australia and NZ, and of course Israel, in their sights. They certainly wish and aim to take these territories over and subjugate their populations. This is, to repeat, a war of Aggression and nothing else.

    • Drunk_by_Noon

I kind of recall an earnest effort to kill Kaddafi back in 1986.
Why yes, it was called operation “El Dorado Canyon”.
I would have worked to had a corrupt Italian PM not tipped off Kaddafi an hour before the raid.

Finally, Iraq, always was a Soviet client state.
Whose tanks, planes, and rifles were they using?

Can I ask, in the politest way possible, just where do you get your information?

      • Billy Bob Thornton

Mostly from RT, Michael Rivero and from independent news that is free from anything mainstream.

But I am not mainstream so that means I am not influenced by Rebel, National Post, G&M but from parties that are 9/11 truth in Canada.

But the fact is why do the interventionists on the left, right and centre pretend to care about defeating anything when this nonsense has gone on for 14+ years. I call it a charade used to make certain people profit like the Cold War.

        • Drunk_by_Noon

Thank you for answering my question.

    • BBT – Libya and ALL other Arab and Moslem countries except Arabia (and even that in fact) are products of Moslem conquest, meaning murder and mayhem on a grand scale, rape, enslavement, etc. This is just an ongoing story of Islamic expansionism by hook or by crook. Your analyses are biased, and take no account of the full sweep of history.

  • Raymond Hietapakka

…one fine day, I referred to the MNDM as a bunch of cockroaches to the local district manager here. He emailed me back, and said that, knowing me, he’ll take it as a compliment, considering the amount of nuclear radiation they can absorb and will be one of the last living organisms on Earth…

Its really important to copy the UN’s advice. Propaganda is very important to win the war on universal peace. Islam must win at all costs and spread so there is peace

  • “The UN is total racket. Get rid of it now.” I’ll second that motion – the Western nations should all get out of the UN. It has become a subsidiary of the Arab League and the Islamic Organization (or whatever their latest moniker is). I’ve been to UN meetings in Geneva, and seen how the Arabs/Moslems operate in it. They are in control all right.
