US arrests suicide bomb suspect in Kansas: 20-year-old detained after he ‘enlisted in the Army so he could stage an ISIS- style attack at a military base’

An Islamic State sympathizer who was plotting to carry out a suicide bomb attack on a US military base in Kansas similar to the deadly assault at Fort Hood in 2009 has been arrested, the Department of Justice has revealed.

John T. Booker Jr, from Topeka, Kansas, was detained in Manhattan, Kansas, on Friday morning and is facing multiple terror charges.

The 20-year-old, who refers to himself as Muhammad Abdullah Hassan, is said to have targeted Fort Riley and planned to use a car bomb to kill ‘people with power’.

US Attorney Barry Grissom said Booker was making his final preparations to set off the explosive when he was captured…

…On March 19, he allegedly wrote: ‘Getting ready to be killed in jihad is a HUGE adrenaline rush!! I am so nervous. NOT because I’m scared to die but I am eager to meet my lord’…

To go by his name, he’s a convert.

      • Justin St.Denis

The “zeal of the convert” can be deadly when It occurs in an Islamic context.

    • Justin St.Denis

      You are unfortunately correct.

Just another one of those fun loving muslim kids. Cute aren’t they?

He “was plotting to carry out a suicide bomb attack on a US military base in Kansas similar to the deadly assault at Fort Hood in 2009”. Which was workplace violence. Hmm, sure didn’t take him long to get into conflict with his colleagues at work, did it?

    • Alain

Considering that US domestic military bases are gun free zones, it would have been easy for him or anyone to carry it out.

He should get an extra ten years and a kick in the arse for being a super idiot. If he had kept his big mouth shut and fingers off the keyboard he could well have got away with it. But I doubt he could even open a car door let alone blow one up.

    • Uncle_Waspy

That’s right. If one is planning on carrying out a terrorist attack, it’s probably a very bad idea to broadcast the details on Facebook and Twitter. But then again, we’re talking about Mr. Booker’s generation; they can’t even eat a sandwich without taking a selfie and advertising it to the world.

      • Justin St.Denis

Jihadi chatterboxes will be the death of ISIS, I swear!

        • Uncle_Waspy

Ha! Loose lips don’t sink ships!

Give him his wish – two rounds center mass. Skip the trial.

They left my spleen back home in Queen’s
My liver ended up in Idaho
      My kidneys splashed over L.A.

So I’m picking up the pieces of my life
      And moving on
Things have gotta go much better

HEY! I tried! Been listening to a LOT of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett lately. I couldn’t resist trying my hand at lyric-writing. 😉

are they heading toward a military coup down there? they should be.

There was a story here recently, maybe in the last 6-months, that had Obama’s popularity, across all branches of the military, is at subterranean levels. That on top of a DISSAPPROVAL rating of about 65% gives you an idea of what they think of him.

There is talk (stuff I read on the Internet) that if there were a domestic insurrection, that was not initiated by an obviously un/Anti/foreign-American elements, that all branches of our military would be “unreliable” in quelling it, and might actually participate.
That is pretty abnormal talk for here.
