Interesting history to one of them, David Dulac – seems exactly the sort of person who would enter an Iranian Holocaust cartoon contest:

“Former student of Fine Arts from the University of Laval David Dulac was convicted Friday morning death threats and bodily harm against children.

Gilles Charest judge made his decision a week after the end of the trial of the young man of 24 years at the Quebec City courthouse.

As part of a university project, David Dulac said he wanted to kidnap children and then beat them on stage. The purpose of “work” was to illustrate how children will grow old in the contemporary world to become amorphous adults.

Gilles Charest judge explained that the accused had every opportunity to say at his trial that he was not serious and that it was a joke, as his lawyer argued, Véronique Robert. The judge reiterated that David Dulac could retract, but he did not seize his chance….”

    • Yup, seems an ideal entrant;)

      • David Murrell

Did Mr. Dulac get a federal arts grant for his child-beating project?

        • Likely;)

        • Wally Keeler

Better yet, did he receive a student loan for his arts studies? But the narrative is wonderful: Convicted pervert artist loses Holocaust cartoon contest.

Here is some more info, from the Iranian website hosting the contest, in case someone wants to research this contest any further:

  • Hard Little Machine

In the next 3 years or so, saying the holocaust happened will be criminalized somewhere in Europe.

    • k1962

Well, they already can’t teach it in some European schools, because it is offensive to the perpetually offended.

  • Richard K

Last year’s winner is quite the gem, and so apropos, because it’s the Jews who go around beheading people….

  • Minicapt

But we are well out-numbered by the Russians.
