UK: Lib Dems block Theresa May’s new tough line on extremism

A Home Office strategy to tackle non-violent extremism has been discreetly shelved after Liberal Democrats in the coalition government blocked the proposals as too hardline and an affront to civil liberties.

A leaked copy of the 28-page report, seen by the Observer, reveals a series of measures designed to counter extremism, including reduced benefits for people who struggle to speak English, training for Jobcentre Plus staff so that they can spy on people considered vulnerable to extremism, and banning individuals from entering the UK if they are judged to have “undermined British values”.

I knew May’s words were just that, words.

Anyone who cared one whit about real “civil liberties” would be fighting these animals tooth and nail and doing so on every front.
They don’t fight them because they want more of these potential Labour voters, and if they have a few more 7/7s along the way, then that’s just too bad.
Yes, these people really ARE that evil.

    • I agree, our politicians believe an acceptable level of Muslim violence is just a cost of doing business.

I think it’s even slightly worse than that.
I think they WANT it, to a certain extent, as a distraction to what they are doing.
It’s a great excuse to reduce real civil liberties, while introducing fake ones, while growing the power of the government along the way.
9/11 was a boon to not only Islam, but toward a police state that wants to regulate all ares of life, for our own good.
Can you imadgine anyone but the lunatic fringe (of the lunitic fringe) vocally calling for homosexual marriage as recently as the year 2000?
You would have been laughed out of the public forum.
Now if you don’t support it, you get put out of business or can’t hold a job.

If UKIP has its way, the Lib Dems will be headed for oblivion shortly.

but will she jump ship to follow the winds of change?

As I said earlier words are cheap. Obviously the words spoken by the representative of government of the former great britain were just that. Blocked by idiots and, no doubt, to the relief of the twits in charge.

Pre-violent extremists are paving the way for future violent extremism. Cap the benefits of the enemies of individual liberty and freedom at zero. Muslims, every last one of them, are loyal first to the inherently seditious totalitarian quest to replace enlightened culture with smothering sharia. This conquest defines Islam, including the full extermination of Jews (first, and all non-subservient non-Muslims).

The LibDems have been useful to Cameron and his “Not actually Conservative” Party. They let people like May spout off knowing full well that they will have their more conservative measures blocked by the LibDems.

And unless UKIP does better than expected the results of the next election will not improve things much.

    Poor England.
